  1. Just tested retail 1.6.5 and it works fine so this is a definite issue with the current beta version.
  2. This is with the latest beta. I can try the retail version when I get home to compare.
  3. Thanks Lee. I'll share a copy tonight when I'm back home. I was using the PNG-24 preset and it definitely has transparency in AP as confirmed by the chequerboard background. Exporting via Share to Photos or normal export to Files and pull it back into AP using place image and it has a white background. May be something stupid I'm doing though.
  4. Is it possible to Export from AP iPad with transparency? I know we can import and use files with transparency but I have such a file that I have made some colour changes to and trying to export as a png with transparency but the background is saving as plain white.
  5. Okay, when increasing shadows in the develop persona in the latest beta, I’m getting a horrible sparkling effect as soon as I increase the shadow by 1. This affects raw files (NEF) as well as jpg. This doesn’t happen in the photo persona or when using other apps like Apple Photos or RAW Power. Screens attached but this only seems to affect black images such as this moon shot.
  6. Yup, shadows is a huge improvement over the previous version in develop with results more similar to the Photo persona. Good job. Highlights does seems to affect mid tones a little more than I would like so you need to be very conservative with its use.
  7. An old topic but I wanted to update it as I had a similar question. Uncompressed RAW files from X-T20 are supported in iOS 11. Compressed RAW files are not supported according to the Apple Support site.
  8. Just to add to this thread, I was doing work on an image at the weekend and trying to judge the feather on the selection so I could apply a blur to the background to isolate the foreground subject. This inability to get any sense of how the feather looks is a real problem imho. I need to set the feather then select a blur and set the amount then review the output then undo the blur and redo the feather and repeat until I am happy. Sure, it is possible to do it in this trial and error way but the simple ability to see the resultant feather in a mask would make life so much easier and save time.
  9. There is always Macphun’s alternative... https://www.dpreview.com/news/1288796943/macphun-responds-to-lightroom-cc-release-teases-their-own-photo-manager
  10. This is the kind of feature that would ideally live within a DAM app if developed unless that full functionality was incorporated into AP itself.
  11. I have also noticed the softer results using the Inpainting brush and usually get bettter (and faster) results using Pixelmator instead. One tip if you get a repeating pattern on subsequent attempts is to change the brush size and try again. This works quite well for me.
  12. Yup, this is something that definitely needs addressed because shadow recovery has completely different results between the Develop and Photo personas.
  13. If you want a single cloud provider for both platforms then you would need to consider something like iCloud, Box, Dropbox etc. If you want to retain the KnowHow cloud as part of the process then you could use that with your Laptop purely as a backup for all the original photos. You can also upload the photos directly from the SD card onto the iPad and work with the photos locally in Affinity Photo and then share these to one of the other cloud providers to share or plug your iPad into the Laptop and copy the photos directly to the Laptop. A little long winded but at least it lets you utilise your existing KnowHow cloud for archiving and the iPad for editing.
  14. I'll test out with some D7200 RAW files too as a comparison.
  15. With an active selection, tap the little brush over a blue line icon to the right of the feather icon on the bottom tool bar. This will show you the mask with some refinement options and you can click the white right arrow for more refinement tools.
  16. Great work Andy and the team. I really appreciate all the work that is going into this app, as I'm sure the rest of us do.
  17. One issue I have is video shows up in the photos import but there is nothing to determine it is a video since you only see a still frame preview. If you import this then the app will crash.
  18. Yes, I'm referring to over the air updates. For App updates, I have apps several hundred MBs in size and have updated these in a few seconds but my ISP download speed maxes out ~ 8MB/s so it definitely isn't pulling down the full package.I don't know all the specifics about when this happens though.
  19. Regarding Testflight downloads, I believe they pull down the full image whereas normal app store updates only pull down the changed assets. Is this what you are noticing? E.g. everytime you update the AP beta via Testflight, you pull down ~ 1GB but if you just updated the normal version of the app via App Store, you may actually only pull down ~ 50MB depending on how much has been changed.
  20. Ah, okay, so it isn't an iPad bug. I can't help on the windows side as I only use a Mac.
  21. Are you using iCloud integration on your iOS device for storing photos?
  22. I would imagine DJI RAW support will be along soon since their drones are gaining in popularity. In the meantime, it may be worth submitting this as an enhancement request to Apple... https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
  23. Thanks jhoy. This kind of confirms to me that the colour selection tools in the first place were not quite up to the job and not the best approach to take to accomplish this. I don't mean this as a criticism, I absolutely love this app, it is more of an observation.
