Hi, my name is Ben. I hope you all are having a great day. This is an issue that can be worked around, but is somewhat time consuming. I am currently experiencing what I believe to be an issue.
Operating system: Windows 10 Version: 1909
Image canvas size: [ 227 x 226 ] pixels to [ 223 x 221 ]
Tools that have issues: [ Resize Canvas ], [ Clip Canvas ] and [ Resize Document ]
Affinity Photo Version: 1.8.3.641
How to recreate the issue: Make a rasterized image with some empty transparent pixel space around the image, then go to [ Document -> Clip Canvas ] and it should do this degrading blur and bulge after a clip of the canvas.
What it should do: Erase blank empty space without degrading image quality.
Also NOTE: It seams to do the same thing if I go to [ Document -> Resize Canvas ] or [ Document -> Resize Document ] as well. This seams to cause the same exact issues, blurring, bulging, and degrading the original quality. This is to me a big issue for development when quality is important. I expect when resizing the image itself that it would change its quality, but not at all for the canvas.
That said. I hope this helps. Again hope you have a wonderful day. I hope this report helps. Thanks for the time reading this. -Ben
Here are two images demonstrating the quality change from [ Document -> Clip Canvas ] Again the same effect is caused by [ Document -> Resize Canvas ] or [ Document -> Resize Document ] as well.
