  1. Thank you. That pointer really helps and Quick Mask looks like an excellent tool - potentially. It's probably my Apple Aperture vs Photoshop background, but I am getting lost about half way through the video. Around about 0:40, having selected the paintbrush tool, the narrator says "we'll just Click Drag ..." and you can see the eyes getting selected (a portion of the red overlay disappears). However when I click-drag (hold down left mouse button and drag) nothing happens. Should I be doing something other than holding down the left mouse button and dragging?
  2. Please excuse a very basic question. I have used Apple Aperture for years and just got AP yesterday. What I want to do is selectively sharpen a photograph; e.g. sharpen the eyes or jewellery in a portrait. In Aperture I click the sharpen tool and paint over the bits I want sharpened. I can't figure out how to do the same in AP. Filters -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask gives me a tool that seems to randomly sharpen parts of the image, quite often very severely. I have watched the tutorial video but can't figure out what it's doing. I realise I must be misunderstanding something pretty basic but I'd appreciate a pointer. Thanks
  3. I'm coming from Apple Aperture and just bought Photo yesterday. Very different interfaces! I'm trying to figure out how to sharpen things like jewellery that appears in portraits. In Aperture I'd "paint" it on: i.e. select the tool, set the brush size and paint where I want sharpening. In AP, I can find the tool but I have no idea what it does. Any attempt at "painting" ends up with hyper sharpened photos. I have looked at the tutorial video (thank you) but I am still no clearer. How do I apply sharpening to just small parts of a photo?
  4. How will we find out about plugins? Will an email be sent to those who have bought Photo?
