  1. Thanks for this! I have a workaround with Dropbox for the time being.
  2. I could try Dropbox but what a pain - this whole project is set up in google drive. what do you mean by “both affinity apps”?
  3. Ok this is baffling (to me). I have a number of drawings I have created on my iPad. I saved copies to google drive as afdesign files. I can open them on my desktop but they are greyed out when I look on my iPad. What am I doing wrong?
  4. Thanks for this - I should clarify though that I have many years of experience with Illustrator so most of these ideas are pretty clear. What I’m missing is the mechanics of doing things. Like, in this case, nowhere is it said that if the parent layer isn’t empty it will automatically clip! Anyway like I said bravo on a great piece of work. Now if only the UI wasn’t so dark....
  5. By the way I am a complete newby, this is day two. Loving the software overall just a few things I can’t figure out.
  6. I’m not trying to clip. I’m just trying to make a sublayer so that I can organize layers, since designer puts each object on a separate layer.
  7. I’ve made a drawing with two vector objects. Then I made one of them a sublayer. As you can see the object is selectable but no longer visible.
  8. That doesn’t seem to be the problem. The sublayers is there and the object can even be selected - it just behaves like a hidden layer.
  9. When I try to group layers as sublayers, all the objects in the sublayers disappear. They are still there, I just can’t see them. What am I doing wrong? Obviously this makes sublayers useless...
  10. I have purchased affinity designer for iPad, and so far it’s great. The only problem is that the UI is so dark and so low contrast that I have trouble seeing the icons. This is particularly true with the layers menu. Is it possible to switch it out of dark mode? colin
