  1. Mate, if i were you I would hit them up for a refund. Unfortunately, this is how the buying model works, back in the day we'd have to pay thousands of dollars for the new release of Maya only to find small updates. The only thing that's new and improved in AP2 is the price tag. I've noticed on my Surface Pro the new app is now slower. I wasn't expecting anything from this update based on the past 5 years of failed buggy versions. I really hoped the brush engine would be fixed in AP2, and yet again I was sadly disappointed. I've yelled and screamed here on the forum and sent through to head office videos demonstrating the flaws of AP's brush engine next to Photoshops, and I'm always told the same thing, we'll pass it onto the developers. Every attempt has been ignored. Who ever is running the show over there clearly has no idea on how to make this app successfully across the board to all artists. I'm confused that AP is a complete rip off of Photoshop and still lacks one of the most important components that keeps artists subscribed to Adobe. Its time for us all to pack up and go home. GAME OVER!
  2. Still can't import ABR brushes correctly. it's been 5 years now this hasn't been fixed.
  3. 5 years, version 1.10.5 and counting. 👎👎
  4. BAHAHAHAHA 4 years and counting for this update/FIX. Version 1.9 is just as useful as all previous versions. THUMBS DOWN!!
  5. Its a shame this hasnt been improved in AP, it could be the best and closest thing to Photoshop for a lot of professionals. I checked out Paint Storm, it doesnt have adjustment layers which I use a lot for digital mattepainting. I checked on their forum and users have been asking for those since 2016. So it seems theyre another "company" that want to compete with Adobe and fail by ignoring their users requests. Im finding every digital art app out there falls short in one way or another which keeps them from knocking Adobe off their perch. Whats going on, do they all have one 12 year old girl developer sitting in her room struggling to add requests and fix bugs? Come on, if theyre going to create an app then finish the job!! 90% of the way just isnt good enough to switch over for most professionals.
  6. Ok good to hear. Im not sure what bug fixes happened, while 10 strokes into testing the brushes AP crashed. I wont be holding my breath for the ABR importer fix in the next major update.
  7. Well that was fun! Installed Affinity to see yet another disappointing update. Maybe in 2021 the developers will decide to help out us artists. LOL who am I kidding. UNINSTALL.
  8. Thanks mate, lets make AP top of the list.👍
  9. Hi Chris, I wanted to BUMP this post in the hope that this issue will be looked at for the next update. Also, I wanted to draw your attention to a Facebook post I saw today. GrutBrushes have been developing digital brush sets for artists for many years, mostly for Photoshop. Over the last few years, their brushes have become popular in other desktop and portable device apps that can correctly import .ABR files. Such as Artstudio, Procreate, and other Adobe sketch apps. I've approached them to see if they could create brushes for Affinity, unfortunately, they don't feel the brush engine has enough control to create such complex and well texture brushes. So, I thought by using the screen captured posts you may be able to persuade someone in the corner office that this is a fix that needs immediate attention. Check out the number of likes, shares and comments. Surely there's a huge market of digital artists to attract to Affinity once the importer is fixed?
  10. I totally agree that this needs urgent attention. Ive been on and off this forum for 3 years asking for this. I only open AP these days hoping to find an update waiting to be downloaded with this fix. Unfortunately, I can not paint in AP with its brushes after using PS. Ive searched the net and can not find a program that is on Windows that can import .ABR files correctly. If this was fixed in AP it would strongly compete with PS in digital painting a long with it photo imagining tools. Im so looking forward to the day when I can drop Photoshop and paint in Affinity with my brush library. Im sure a lot of my industry friends will feel the same.
