[Publisher 2.4.2 Mac hangs forever on file open? Is there a fix?]

I can launch Publisher, open other files but when I try to open this file the program hangs and I have to force quit the process in Activity Monitor (Regular Force Quit does NOT work)

Can the file be recovered or did I just lose hours of work?

Mac OS 14.4.1, Affinity Publisher 2.4.2.

I cannot open the file on my MacBook, either - so it's not just this computer.

Restarting does not help.

[Image masking not working when exported/printed]

When an image is masked in Affinity Photo and embedded in Affinity design, the masking disappears when exported or printed. In other words, objects that are supposed to be masked appear in printed or exported documents.

 

Workaround:  if the image is exported as a .png and placed in the Design document, the mask is preserved (I didn't test with other file formats that support transparency).

[Cloning Colors / Eye Dropper Tool Shortcut?]

Having no eyedropper is one of the reasons I still have to use Pixelmator for some work - it's a lot faster with an eyedropper tool and an option key to activate it!
I like an option-key + click to select while using a painting/drawing tool. Fast and simple.

Hello everyone! I'm a landscape architect / illustrator / photographer from California. I'm having lots of fun with Designer, still playing around with Photo to find the best workflow. Maybe one of these days I'll drag out some tutorials, read the help files and poke around under the hood - but for now Designer has done everything I needed (posters, illustrations, logos...).

I'm eagerly waiting for Publisher, and also hoping maybe you'll name it something else (Layout, maybe?). I have no fond memories of Microsoft Publisher!
