It seems like copying a selection of a layer isn't possible. When I: 1. create a selection 2. edit > copy 3. create new layer 4. edit > paste I paste the entire layer instead of only the piece of the selection. Would be great to have though! -
I'm missing the PS functionality to create a new layer from a selection of the current layer, when: 1. selecting layer A 2. dragging the selection with keys OPTION + CMD holding 3. releasing mouse click 4. selection is now copied to a new layer + dragged to other position. It's a great feature to have! 🙏

From the menu: Document > Resize Canvas or Document > Resize Document, please add percentage. It's a feature I used a lot in Adobe PS. Missing it for quick edits.
