  1. Hi Andy and Team, I run a 2011 MacBook Pro with eGPU and external display. Previous releases have crashed on launch when the eGPU is connected. This beta will successfully launch (yay!) but crashes when creating a new document (bummer). I'd be happy to help test in whatever way I can to get Affinity Suite working with this setup. Crash log attached, and my system details are: MacBookPro8,3: 17-inch (early 2011) running 10.13.6 Intel HD Graphics 3000. AMD Radeon HD 6750M (disabled via software due to failing chip using NVRAM setting… common in this machine and iMacs of same vintage) eGPU: AMD Radeon RX 460 (in Akitio Thunder2 box and enabled via Purge Wrangler) I understand this a non-standard configuration, however, Affinity programs are the only applications in which I encounter these crashes. Thanks! Jonathan Affinity Photo Beta_2020-09-17-114330_MacBook17.crash
  2. Hi Chris, Just confirming that this crash at launch continues with the 1.8.4 releases. Any update on efforts to track down the eGPU issue (and how I might be able to help)? I purchased the whole Affinity suite and would really like to be able to use it with my setup. Thanks, Jonathan Affinity Designer_2020-08-25-120600_MacBook17.crash
  3. Hi Chris, That's great to hear! I would be happy to help out with any beta testing to help resolve the issue. Having purchased the entire Affinity suite, I'd sure like to be able to use it with my setup. 😉 I should also note that the internal discrete AMD HD 6750 GPU is disabled via software using a NVRAM variable as the chip has failed. This is a common (inevitable?) condition in these MacBooks as well as iMacs using the same chip series. I also tested using a GRUB launcher which disables the AMD chip in a way that keeps up from showing up to the system, but that did not resolve the launch crash with Affinity apps.
  4. I am unable to launch any of the Affinity programs when my eGPU is connected. The apps crash on launch (log attached). I've searched through the forums and it looks like a problem that others have reported with similar system setups across different versions of the Affinity suite. Affinity programs are the only applications I've encountered that won't launch with my system. The apps will launch without the eGPU connected, but I need the eGPU to drive my 4K display. Here are the details of my setup: macOS 10.3.6 (with 2020-03 security update installed) MacBookPro8,3 (17-inch, Early 2011) Intel HD Graphics 3000 / AMD HD 6750M eGPU: AMD Radeon RX 460 in Akitio Thunder2 enclosure (enabled via Purge-Wrangler) Thanks, Jonathan Affinity Photo Crash 20200701.txt
