I use Publisher for developing technical / scientific reports. This functionality would be great and welcome.

Having the ability of typing equations and symbols with LaTex would make Publisher a dream product. Even if the local generated graphics are a high-resolution bitmap (instead of the original vector fonts) this would be really super. Does Affinity provide any plug-in architecture that possibly could be explored/used by the community to attempt anything like this externally, if this is not a priority for Affinity? The use of Publisher in the scientific context is not to be underestimated. People use often Word, but the vast majority of users is highly frustrated with figures and text randomly jumping around two minutes before a deadline. I bet there would be a significant customer base in the Word scientific/technical users for Publisher. I used InDesign in the past to write grant proposals. Andrea

Hey Guys, You are doing an amazing job in offering an alternative to what (possibly was) the substantial monopoly of Adobe. I have licenses for Photo, Designer and Publisher version 1 and 2, and I use them professionally to develop literature and brochures for my startup in the medical devices field. While the applications are snappy, the GUI well organized, and a pleasure to use, I cannot consider using Publisher for serious projects. In my work I need to produce documents and reports with 20 to 50 figures; manually numbering them and hard-coding the reference number in the text would be a folly, if one single figure is removed, it would take hours to update the document. I believe this sentiment is shared by other users. It would be really nice if this feature is given a high priority and appears in the product sometime soon. Hi Guys, I wish you all the luck in being successful as a company, as an alternative to Adobe is badly needed. I am drafting a manual for medical device using Publisher, I am at about 40 pages with several pictures and illustrations, and Publisher crashes relatively often when I make edits to the text that might result in the rearrangement of a bunch of words (like for example deleting a sentence in the middle of a text paragraph would result in the re-arrangement of the reminder of the text). This unfortunately is occurring several times per hour, and interrupting my work. It would be really great to have a fix to this bug. Thanks and Best Regards, Andrea
