Creating a SIMPLE animation tool/feature for Affinity Designer is actually VERY easy to do. The devs only need to add codes that will unclick/click the layer(1,2,3) so we will see how the image would look like if animated.
By clicking Play, the layers (1,2,3) will be clicked/unclicked/looped. It's a very simple animation but it's good enough to give us an idea and it's a start.

Affinity has Publisher, Designer, and Photo, do you use ALL the features? No, right? So just consider my suggestion as one of the features you won't use but others, like me, may find useful.

I've not used Toon Boom but would expect the workflow to be similar for most exports. Check to see which file formats they support, compared to the ones Affinity Designer can export to and the decide which is better for your workflow.

    Short answer is No

    Long answer: This thread is really split into 2 sections;
Uploaded assets that are free to download (Blue links),
Shared work samples (assets and brushes) not so free to download (Red links) Currently these are mostly brushes

    Really long answer:
There are a number of other asset files that are not currently the forum such as the tree builders. There are currently  3 sets of tree builders and a forth one under development. Gnarly V2 is actually visible on the forum here but there are 2 others; Tree builder 01 and Tree Builder 02 that can be seen on my artstation account. In addition I have been working through upgrading both the brush assets (using 1.7 engine and generally improving the nozzles!/dynamics) and creating comprehensive vector sets from existing and new projects. There is only 1 of these visible on the forum under 'Poison' which is really for reasons of necessity (#100days100Commisions) the only project 100% complete here. This one took quite some time as it is a project consisting of over 300 brushes sets of styles, vector seamless patterns and a lot of vector assets. There are several others like this, again on artstation if you want to have a look. These include Camouflage I Camouflage II and Monster World (which is in 2 parts [plants and rock monsters]) Some of these assets are available on the forum within their respective threads in share your work.
There are  a lot of brushes not uploaded 1000's probably.. I am not going to count them.. I believe there are 6 x 120 brush sets just for texture project alone but they need reworking...but it does also leave me with 100's of seamless patterns..

There are a number of other projects that I am still working on...I am sure there will be more assets !..eventually...

You can just drag the files into an asset category..but I would not recommend it!

Download the zip archive, extract the *.afdesign file which is zipped up inside it, open the extracted file in AD and use the Layers panel (or the Layers Studio in the iPad version of the app) to access the individual patterns and textures.

Nicely done. Three things that jump out at me are (a) the catchlights in the eyes should be on the same side, reflecting the direction of the light source, (b) the T-shirt needs a shadow, determined by the same light source, and (c) the shadows on the face and on one of the shoes are on the wrong side.

You are welcome. I want to impart a few more pieces of advice, but before I do I want to acknowledge that the pandemic has turned everything upside down, and adds another layer of complexity to establishing or re-establish yourself, but I believe it is possible.
Having that said, don't rely on the idea of talent as the source of permission to become an artist or learn a new trade. Talent is how a novice interprets hard work. I also started drawing when I was very young, but it was only until I made an effort to sharpen those skills did I find myself improving. Also, for as much as I know or as skilled as I may be- I still have so much to learn and improve upon. Drawing is a lifelong pursuit that I don't think I'll ever feel "finished" learning.
It's great that you have a passion for drawing and that you have pencil/paper by your side. The best thing I was ever told early in my Art education was, "If you can draw- you can do absolutely anything" it's absolutely true- and applies to more than just visual art. With that, hone your skills in drawing with paper/pencil first and foremost- it will make learning digital illustration and whatever else so much easier.
If you need a syllabus to study by try this:
Learn to draw objects in perspective Study the human figure Study the work of old masters Study nature, in nature. Finally, it's okay to feel frustration, it will occur and get the best of you no matter how skilled you become. Accept that you'll become frustrated, and try and learn to occasionally harness it to your benefit rather than allow it to discourage your effort.
Again, I hope this advice was helpful and that you continue to pursue a life of art making, I am cheering for you.

    Hi rodsal23,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
I'm with Matt here. Don't worry too much about whether it will sell or what others think. First and foremost focus on what YOU like, practise/work on developing your skills, compare what you are doing with what you have done earlier to get a sense of your own progress and enjoy the whole process of creating these works. The rest will come by itself - from the natural reactions from others to your sense of what works and not, things will get more clear as you move forward.
