  1. Is the blob bug fixed? As expected it’s not. This app is a joke, incompetent development.
  2. That’s what I’m doing now. Vectornator, Fresco and Procreate. I’m exited to see the new brush engine in Vectornator and the basic vector bezier tools in Adobe Fresco that will be released soon.
  3. These are pixel only app as vectornator is a superior vector only app. But Serif try to sell Affinity Designer for iPad without usable pixel brushes, advertising: With a single click, switch between full featured vector and raster workspaces. Just think about what that means… add raster brush texture to your illustrations, edit single pixels on icons, mask and add grain to your crisp vectors, enclose and clip pixel layers. This is true creative freedom and the possibilities are endless. and blobs at every pixel brushstroke. Over two years now without any attempt to fix. Just think about what that means… Maybe a script that detects and deletes the blobs?
  4. It’s very annoying to have to sketch in Fresco or Procreate and then import to Affinity Designer to continue artwork. Very time consuming if using multiple pixel layers or want to add some pixel sketches.
  5. For new customers who doesn’t want to wait several years: The purchase of Affinity Designer for iPad from App Store might be still eligible for a refund. To request a refund from Apple users have to go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com and follow instructions.
  6. Maybe, but when the issue had got wider publicity over the internet it will be to late, they can choose continuing fooling customers, take the bug seriously or paying the deserved price. Although it is primarily an issue in Affinity Designer they moved the discussion to Affinity Photo bugs to hide it from Designer customers. Affinity Photo is mainly used for other purposes than drawing. For drawing It can easily be replaced by Adobe Fresco and Procreate, Affinity Designer not.
  7. Enough! This is not only an Affinity Photo issue but primarily a Affinity Designer issue. When we bought Affinity Designer for iPad we thought buying an app that combines vector and pixel art. Many customers are disappointed. Since more than 2 years the pixel persona blob bug exists and the app is still sold in the App Store. Any confidence that this serious bug will ever be fixed is gone. We do not want to be fooled anymore. Fix the bug or remove the app from the App Store! Time for more publicity...

  9. Not true like in illustrator but usable brushes unlike the pixel brushes.
  10. This bug has to be made better known to customers so that new buyers know what to expect. Only loss of sales could lead to a change in thinking and respect customers. This old thread is truly the wrong place. Maybe a youtube video will reach more people.
  11. No pencil at all. Disabled scribble and iPad restart doesn’t help. Only reinstalling Affinity Designer and Photo after scribble is turned off. I can’t remember such behavior with 1.8.3 on iPad OS 14 Beta.
  12. Feature request: Placing Procreate and Fresco files so that these files are live linked combining vector drawing in Affinity Designer with pixel drawing in Procreate or Adobe Fresco. Changes in these documents could appear live in Affinity Designer without the need of refreshing. Ideally a 3rd party drawing app persona.
  13. Today both Affinity Designer and Photo got updates, again without fixing the blob bug. Very disappointing app development. How can it be ignored?😡
  14. My iPad just updated to 1.8.4. Is that a feature or bug? After drawing in the pixel persona with the pencil my trackpad cursor now gets the blob too. IMG_1553.MOV
  15. In your you haven’t reproduced yet a dynamic line like that:
  16. I tested this only on iPad Pro 12.9” 2018/2020 with Apple Pencils 2 but @Luovatone had tested this with the “latest Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo 1.8.3 with iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5, iPad Pro 12.9" (1st gen), iPad 2018 (6th gen) and all behave same.“
  17. As I can remember the defective pencil had a bigger gab between the nib. Maybe that was the normal variation. Another pencil that I replaced had the nib off centered without any effect in sensitivity. I even deleted my iPad twice and clean installs of iPad OS 13.5 and iPad OS 14 beta and Affinity Designer, Photo, Photo Beta. The same. BTW: I was using the “Comics Ink Pen” not the “Comics G Pen”
  18. It looks like your pencil hasn’t much pressure sensitivity anymore. The blob appears with all brushes, smaller sizes too. If more pressure was applied they aren’t visible. Such variations are something you can easily do with real ink and a good red sable brush. I’m never using any screen protector. In the past I had a new Apple Pencil 2 with too low pressure sensitivity that was replaced by Apple CS.
  19. Again too much pressure or defective pencil. How is your global pressure curve under preferences set?
  20. Unfortunately, I already tried a new Apple Pencil 2 and iPad Pro 12.9“, no difference. Anybody else without blobs?
