We should have a way to measure the length of curves. The current measurement tools work great but they are limited, I sometimes need to measure curves that must match with a different shape curve but with the same length, forcing me to walk both curves until I see if they match or not. This process can get very slow the more complex the curve gets. It would be great to know the length of a curve just by clicking on it.

That could be useful to me, too.

Swipe left on the file instead of taping the hamburger menu, then you’ll see a duplicate icon. 

@ProDesignerthank you sum much again and sorry to bother you again haha I don’t really know ppl in this forum. I think the zigzag might work but I’m not sure if it’s going to work with the more complex stitches. But I’ll see what’s going on in this other topic it might actually work haha

I'm going to disappoint you on this one I'm afraid. I've not really spent any time at all constucting custom brushes in Designer, thus far.
Hopefully someone else has, and will pop along here out of curiosity soon. I suggest you add some more tags such as "custom brushes", "brushes" to this thread, as it might increase the chances of them landing here,.... possibly.
I've not put much time into searching the forums, or read the below, so don't know if it helps. It links to another thread as well so hopefully one of the two will answer your question.
Perhaps it's a place to start (You may have already checked it out of course). A quick scan suggests it's no good for creating objects which need a fill, but I don't think you need to do that.
I've looked at the help, briefly and nothing jumps out though I have a couple of thoughts if the above isn't what you need.
I've followed this thread and will observe with interest. I'll offer anything I can if it's any chance of being valuable.

I thought it was odd that the rectangle worked for both myself and @Alfred , but not for you.

@Estalfos - something to watch just so we’re sure you created the rectangle in this way, or did you do something different?

Hum, interesting one.
So, the line you’re trying to rotate around the lower pivot point must stay an exact length, yeah?
That’s why you’re not using the node tool to simply move the top node so it snaps exactly to the vertical construction line?
If the answer to the two questions above is ‘yes’. Then I’m thinking snap might be your friend.. though the little bit of experimenting I’ve done suggests this is not straight forward.
Once you confirm the line must stay a fixed length, then I’ll need to play a bit to see if I can help. Can’t promise I’m afraid - you’re into very sophisticated technical drawing using an app intended for creative illustration. Happy to see if we can push it though.

(I’ve always felt the rotation handle to be clumsy tool, btw, and this demonstrates why, perfectly.. it’s a tool that’s come from Microsoft-land and that’s rarely a good thing).

You can open designer files in Photo or copy paste layers between apps. Same file format used for all affinity products. The file type just points the file to the default app.

Hello, on iPad Affinity Designer while saving a design for laser cutting to ‘Assets’  the app froze, crashed and I’ve lost over a hundreds designs (everything I had in ‘Assets’ — instead the ‘iOS 12’ category is back despite deleting it months ago) most of them for good, with no backup. Probably not but before losing my minds completely I have to ask, there’s any chance to recover them?

Are you serious it’s been 3 years how come this is not a resolved issue already even procreate let you create pallets from pictures and add them. I am not saying it is easy but after 3 years it should be done already.

Thank you for the file - I was able to reproduce the issue you're seeing with the node at the top of your document (on the desktop app). However we have been making some improvements to the Join Curves functionality in 1.8.4, so I tried your file on the current desktop beta of 1.8.4 and it is behaving itself! So hopefully when 1.8.4 does roll out the door you shouldn't encounter this issue!
