  1. Hello, tthank you very much for the feedback and the hints. Old Bruce, you have identified the mistake: It was the 'blend mode', which, for whatever reason, was set to 'lighter color'. In 'normal' mode it works perfectly. Many thanks and best regards Jürgen
  2. Hello, I have a problem with the brush-tool: When I open a jpg-file with Affinity-Photo, I can paint on the background layer with the brush only on the dark areas. As soon as the area has a certain brightness level, the brush no longer works or the stroke doesn’t appear. On the other hand, I can use the drawing pen or the graphic-text-tool over the entire area, regardless of the brightness level. How can this strange behavior be explained or even turned off? I don't know this behavior of the brush from Photoshop or Gimp. Here I can use it as I like on the background layer, without any further adjustments. With best regards Jürgen
  3. Since I am also thoroughly fed up with Adobe's licensing policy, I have been looking for an alterantive for quite some time. Scribus was interesting to me as an open source project, but unfortunately it does not yet meet my requirements – I primarily design complex books – especially in terms of ergonomics. I was all the more pleased when I discovered Serif PagePlus X9 and found out that the program had been further developed with Publisher. But with the deficit described here, I can't use the program for my jobs with a quiet conscience, because the risk is too great for me. I need reliability for the creation of print data. Therefore I hope that the problem will be solved as soon as possible.
  4. Yes, unfortunately, my fear formulated at the beginning has been confirmed. The problem is really annoying, and as long as it is not really fixed, Publisher is unfortunately out of the question for me for productive use.
  5. As you know, the font color can be set directly via the toolbar or via the format template. The screenshot shows my setting on the toolbar.
  6. Just to add: With Affinity Photo I get the same results. If I export the file with PDF/X-1a:2003, PDF/X-3:2003 or PDF/X-4 I get 100% K. When I use PDF 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7 black is rasterized in CMYK .
  7. Hello Wonderings, I have already written that I am working with a CMYK profile and accordingly the option is also activated when creating a document, as on your screenshot.
  8. The profile settings for export correspond to those of the document. But it is curious that the correct PDF export with 100% black only works with PDF/X-1a:2003, PDF/X-3:2003 or PDF/X-4. When I use PDF 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7 I get the wrong result. This is different with PagePlus, because the correct export also works with PDF 1.4 etc. Thanks for the helpful response.
  9. Since I mostly work on books, I basically proceed as described. So I work with a CMYK color profile and export the whole thing as a print PDF. Unfortunately, the result is disappointing, as the screenshot below shows. No 100% black is produced, neither in the color field nor in the writing.
  10. Hello, I'm getting to know publisher and have worked with InDesign so far. How can I print a text 100% black with publisher or export it as a PDF? No matter how I set the font color, in Acrobat I am always told that the font is rasterized in CMYK. Greetings Jürgen
