Hey pmi,
Are you referring to the Quality slider in the Export Options in the Export Persona?
Only the Preview button will give you live previews of how the export will look. I believe this has been raised a number of times before because you would expect the Export Persona to show live changes but currently it does not. I will log your feedback as an improvement.

Completely agree.
I know Affinity isn't trying to "copy/replicate" everything from Adobe, but I do agree that having this preview window with tweaking options helps to get the job done faster.

there is a problem with zoom indicator.
If you change the value in select, the bar does not update.
If you move the zoom bar, the select does not update

Awww. You were so close .
While we wait for an knife tool....
(technically, only the intersecting "diagonal" nodes need to be broken. It was just easier to do a simple box select in this case.)
Edit: Uploaded a replacement vid where I go straight to Divide rather than from Xor to Divide (saving a click). But the forum won't let me delete the first vid. Actually, it lets me delete it (.... it's not in my uploads "folder" anymore), but it's still showing up in the post. Interesting . So disregard the second video space.

Or the cake tool, or tracing as vectors etc., there are generally many different ways to do that.

another way to do this is to use the donut tool
shape creation using donut tool.afdesign Saved with history so you can jog back and forth in the history panel.

I am very disappointed with adobe, and it's sheep subscribers. I am a creative person, I not work professionally, for me is art a hobby but still my life. And no one should be persuaded by these money-hungry giants that an abo is a good option.
