  1. I do have it installed. I'll disable it and test again. Weird though that it never caused a problem until now because I've had it for a long time.
  2. I haven't had this problem ever before the most recent update (2.0.4) but now I can't use the Find function at all. I've attached a crash report if that's helpful at all. My setup: Macbook Pro OS: Ventura 13.0.1 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 publisher crash report.rtf
  3. Here's another example, and this one is GLARING! The first is at full screen view as I see it. The second is the output. There's a piece of my collage in the lower middle that's resizing and moving. How is that even a thing?
  4. Apparently you are correct. If I'm zoomed into 100%, I see it the way it exports, but even THAT is problematic. I would think Affinity would want our images to render accurate at any level of zoom. M1 macbook and display, most recent MacOS.
  5. This is not unique to version 2 of Affinity Photo, I've experienced this before in previous versions, and I realize that maybe I'm pushing the limits of what Photo is supposed to render, but whenever I push certain filters or adjustments (displace, threshold, affine, and others), what I see on my screen is not what gets created after I flatten or export. Separately, but not disimilar, often, I can create an image using radical color adjustments, save the file, and import that image into a new document with the exact same color profile as the first image, but the imported image color shifts significantly. It's frustrating to say the least that I cannot trust what I see on screen to be what gets exported. I've included an example and also a Zip of my original file so you an take a look for yourself. masseuphoria-daveconrey.zip
  6. I did some testing, tried different things and I believe I have narrowed it down. Whenever I use my Huion HS611 Graphics Tablet with Affinity Photo, that's where I get the most glitches, stalls, and even Kernel Panic shut downs. I don't have nearly the amount of issues when using a mouse, even when the graphics tablet is plugged in. The tablet driver is up to date, as is my computer OS. I can replicate the problems, but depending on the image I'm working on, the amount of error and stalling varies. I've tried on new and previous documents, and the results are the same. Attached is the latest image that gave me significant problems, including a Kernel Panic crash. I tested with hardware acceleration both on and off and the results were similar. Finally, none of this was a problem before 1.10, and I reiterate, the results got even worse with 1.10.1. All my stats from the machine are the same as the screenshots in my OP. Thanks, Dave dcox-repop.afphoto
  7. The latest patch has not been kind to me. Some things I've noticed that might be more common. While creating brushes, settings don't get saved. I've had to resort to taking screenshots to make sure that I remember my settings. In the layers palette, when one any layer (pixel, image, whatever), and I try to add a mask, the mask goes on top of the layer, not within the particular layer. I have to manually move all my masks now. Things that may be unique to me. Using brushes slows, stalls, and crashes the app There's a persistent hesitation with any new action. My CPU is running hotter than ever only while in Affinity Photo My productivity is at a near standstill, which is totally unacceptable. At this rate, I may have to download the OTHER guy's image editing app. For context, here's my computer info.
  8. Not so much a fix as a band aid. I'm getting the same thing, and yes, I'm using a second monitor with my macbook pro. My monitor specs: ASUS VG279Q 27" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 1ms (MPRT) DP HDMI DVI
  9. I wish I could say that I'm feeling the same way as others. After upgrading, my experience got significantly worse. I already reported my experience in the bugs area, and even after setting up my machine as recommended, I'm still getting spinning beach balls in Affinity Photo, on relatively small images. Even crashed once, which is something that hasn't happened for me since early v.1.9.
  10. Any chance you could give more clarity on this? I am noticing now that those same filters/adjustments are not producing the same effect (which is a bit of bummer, because I was really digging the result). I'm just curious why this would change the functionality of the different filters or adjustments. Thanks.
  11. It's definitely not turned on, mostly because I don't have the slightest idea how anything in that tab works, and didn't want to mess with it in case I broke something.
  12. I don't know if this qualifies as a bug or not, but what I'm experiencing is the exact opposite of what I anticipated with this latest update. Instead of being more fast and stable. Working on a relatively small document (1920x1080 px) with a few live filters and adjustments, combined with active text, I've crashed once, and has significant sluggishness while working on this document. If you look at this video, you can see how slow the filter and adjustment layers are to react when I turn them off and back on again. Also, the redraw when I zoom in is back to what I saw in version 1.6 and before. I know it's not my computer, because it's a fairly recent macbook with plenty of RAM and a reasonable graphics card, but none of that should matter, because I never experienced this with version 1.9. My performance in significantly worse with this latest upgrade. Of course, any thoughts or ideas on how to remedy this for myself are welcome. Thanks. Live Filter Test - SPEED.afphoto
  13. Thanks Dan, screenshot attached. It's happened in multiple documents, but each are about the same size as I'm working on some posters (12x16" 300dpi). I usually have other programs open at once, but nothing nearly as RAM intensive as Affinity Photo. Usually just a web browser and some support apps. Dave
  14. I'm not sure what's going on, but I have been getting the spinning beachball of death much more often while working on moderately sized documents (3600x5000 ppi with between 10 and 15 layers, for example). Since buying this MacBook, I haven't experienced this problem much, but it's become a lot more frequent in the last few days. I had not updated my Photo since the last update, so I updated, and the problem persisted. I ran through my system, cleaning up cache, rash, ram, and unnecessary files. After a reboot, it's not happening as frequently, but it's still happening. I also know there is a minor Apple OS update that I haven't done yet, but I can't imagine this is the problem... or maybe it is. That's next on the list. If anyone has any insight, below are all my hardware information. Thank you.
  15. Hello Publisher Team, I'm seeing a major glitch on photos whenever working on master pages whenever I try to resize the frame from one side or the other. I move the frame node and the image glitches out and disappears. As the video shows, this only happens on master pages, not regular pages. Obviously I normally would only put empty image frames on a master page, but I like to place them temporarily for size/color relationship. 16. That's a shame. Not to always be "well InDesign can do it..," but it is something that's been part of that app for a very long time. Manual it is then, I suppose. Thanks for your insight.
  17. Hello, I'm currently building a template for a magazine in Affinity Publisher at the U.S. Letter size, but I always want to have an A4 template as well. Changing the size of the document is easy enough, but what I'm struggling with is keeping the columns of type and other text boxes within guides/grids as the page gets scaled. I've tried all scaling options with no luck. The closest was using the "rescale" option within the Spread Properties/Scaling tab, which kept the text frames to the column guides, but it also horizontally scaled the typography, which is not good. Attached images are showing what happens when I try to adjust the page from US Letter to A4. Thanks.
  18. This honestly has me curious to what it used to say. 😂 Regardless, thank you for these updates.
  19. When using the Leading Keyboard Shortcuts, the difference between "Increase" and "precise increase" is imperceptible. I would really like to change the "precise" control to be more precise. Is this a possibility? I cannot seem to get the image to upload from the URL, but if anyone wants to see it (I hope this works), here's the Imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/uktb9xY Any advice is welcome.
