Yes that’s right it shows the right colour but color it with the original color I used before I adjusted it with ‘recolour tool’.

If you adjust a colour through ‘adjust colors’ and merge it, you can copy the colour (with pencil) it copies the colour but draws the colour that was the colour before the merging.

I use it myself all the time. Works perfectly until affinity will support it 🙂

Sorry very very late response Mike, but thanks, although I do need them in 100cmx100cm. I stays strange because my desktop had problems with the file too. So I rebuilder the file piece by piece and troubles we’re solved. keeps strange, but challenges enough 🙂 ivan

My file first had the problem that I could not merge layers on iPad and macOS because publisher freezes completely on both systems. then the same file that was merged couldn’t export to psd or jpg or any other format because it freezes completely also on iPad and macOS. Then I managed it to resize to 100x100cm 300 dpi (it was bigger) and could export but takes a lot of time. the source file is now unusable unfortunately. if file is needed let me know. Sorry I don't know the name for it and I looked If anyone already requested it, but can't find it (problably because of search terminology). But in Illustrator it is possible (just like in iPad Affinity Designer) to place a tiff/bitmap. But in Illustrator it is possible to put (for i.e.) a square behind it in color and you will see that color through the (bitmapped tiff). But in Designer it will not appear if you put it to the background (the bitmap/tiff will stay the primary color). Is there a solution or is this a feature request and I think the last one 🙂 Kind regards

Indeed Paul about the SVG I didn’t know either…. But about above…… important is to put (at the export) to put the option ‘preserve editable layers’ on…. And it works…. Exactly like i want…… you can edit the pen tool layer again created in designer but this time in photo. Fantastic. This is what i was looking for, Thanks!!!! Ivan

Hi notmyfault, thx for your reply. sometimes you have objects in designer not vector based. From that ‘image’ I would like to make a selection to cut it out and export it to affinity photo. I want to use a ‘pen tool’ like tool to cut it out… why? Because ‘pen tool’ is soooo much more refined as any other because you can edit creating the corners and line curves. (Like in illustrator you can do this and then copy/paste it to I.e. photoshop). but it might be that I think to difficult in the available options (more then I know of how to work with them) 🤪 thx for the explanation of masks I think I have to dive into that, as you describe it, it might be the answer to my question. thanksalot notmyfault!11 regards, ivan

Hi Paul sorry late answer but was trying it out. Thanks for your reply. Didn’t know about the ‘share’ possibility. The thing is I like to use the ‘pen tool’ to make a selection that I can edit later when I am done selecting. But…… it makes a new layer on top of an image/photo/object so I can’t use the selection of that particular cut out of the image/photo/object to cut it out. Because thenselection will disappear when merging. new challenge for me. but thanks for showing that share button, very good one! Btw I think i found a solution I didn’t know of ‘selection to mask’… only available for photo though (big bummer)… should be possible in designer to use pen tool to make a selection from photo/image/object in a layer underneath. ivan

Probably a stupid question but can't find the answer. Is this possible? I made a new layer in Designer and the with the 'pen tool' I created a selection from an object I drew over. Then I would like to copy that selection to affinity Photo to paste it over an image there. Is this possible, can not find any way to do this - I can do it in Adobe but not here (until now). Hi Lee, I also was thinking about what could be the reason for the crashes. At the moment i experienced them (hard to get screenshot for them or whatever as i don’t know when to expect them) i was immediately thinking about the internet connection to the cloud (for the auto save but also for the imported photo’s). For know I don’t experience them so its hard to make conclusions for me also because I don’t have a saved ips-file that include the recent crashes. But I’ll keep my attentions to it and inform you when it happens again, i understand it’s too hard for all to replicate the situation. Many thanks for the reply for now. Ivan

Last 1 or 2 weeks designer on the iPad keeps crashing. Sometimes a restart helps. designer latest version 1.10.5 and iPadOS 15.4.1. Can’t seem to find what the problem is. Working in vector groups might be the crashing problem but I am not sure. ivan

Same here 1.10.1 on iPad Pro. It eatsssss the battery at full capacity within 2 or 3 hours. Didn’t have that problem before. regards, ivan

Hi Sean sorry for the late response but Lee (your colleque/moderator) responded. I got the file by a workaround (in the app save it as psd and then import again - now it is 12mb) working again. Asked him if he still was interested in the file....... Ivan

Somewhere in the process my file size went up to about 820mb (with only one 'pixel' image). So the file gets 'unworkable' -probably because of the file size- it crashes with everything I do. So i 'saved' it in the main menu as a .afdesign file and 'opened and saved it as a .psd file' on the laptop of a collegue with Designer for MacOs. (opening the file in Designer for the iPad and saving it as a psd in the export menu was not always possible because of the crashes). The file size went down to 17mb, tried it with another file with more layers (mostly groups) and the 'pixel' image and that file went down to 30mb. Loaded the 2 'psd files' to iPad designer again now they are functioning fine again. What could be the iPad Pro 12" with 14.7.1 iPad designer 1.9.2

Don’t know where to post this… so gonne do it here. this file from me makes me a bit frustrated I have all the bugs designer has in 1 file if you ask me 🙂 but the thing now is, file keeps crashing designer and is ridiculously big if saving it to affinity file (850mb). Takes long to open it and even longer to when it opened before I can make any action, ….if I can make them….. something to do with groups (Because merging vectors is crashing affinity I have to work in groups till the bugs are out of it) but I think that consumes to much memory. can I send my file to somewhere (Not to the moon) for an affinity expert to look at it? regards, ivan Ios: 14.7.1 affinity iPad designer: 1.9.2
