I was watching a video by a css developer - he was using illustrator and simply copied an object to clipboard and then pasted into his text editor as an sag tag. I often want the svg content like this and have to export as svg, load in the file, then copy/paste the content. This feature would be fabulous! Here is the video (time index 3:30) -

I have made a video as requested. In this video, AD doesn't crash but produces a blank pane when I've scrolled to the end, instead. I wonder if this is because I am using a blank project or my memory is not being used as much as yesterday as it was consistently crashing then? affinity_des_pixabay.mp4 (I have an iMac 27" i7 5K with 32G memory + 3T fusion drive)

I have found that when I am looking for stock on Pixabay in Vector filter mode, when I scroll to the end of the list, Affinity Designer immediately terminates. I am using version 1.8.4 from the App Store.

Should this be switched on or off? Also, is it worth trying to add --legacy-wintab to the launch path (as I have seen in some other posts) and, if so, what happens on further upgrades - does that stay or would we have to add it every time an upgrade occurs?

I really don't know - how can we find it?

My son is assessing Affinity Photo for Windows as a replacement for Photoshop now he has finished university (44 days left on the trial version). He uses Affinity Photo with a Ugee M708 graphics tablet. As soon as he updated to 1.8.4, he had all kinds of weird problems; lines with gaps appearing mid flow, lines drawing themselves in the corners etc. In the end, after reading that others were having problems with other tablets, we down-graded to 1.8.3 and the problems were solved. This is most definitely a problem wit the new update and I hope that it will be resolved soon. He has been more than happy with Affinity Photo up until now. P.S. I own Affinity Designer (Mac and iPad) and couldn't do without it!

I've only been using Affinity Designer (Mac) for around a week now and I am very happy with it. However, one thing I find frustrating is that when I'm exporting many objects as PNG etc. the export dialog always defaults its Area combo to 'Whole Document' or 'Artboard1' etc. and I am having to change this every time to 'Selection without background' (or with). When you are having to do this many times repeatedly, it becomes very tedious and easy to overlook. I thought there would be a setting for this but I have been unable to find one. I understand that you may not have, say 'Artboard7' every time but if you DO have the same option available (such as 'Selection without background') then could we please remember it for next time (even if it is only for the duration of that document).
