You can find the app under the Windows Apps section on the left. It's what we used to uninstall all the crap that came with Win10 and 11 (incl MS Store).
Many other software developers use the MSIX route but at the same time there is the option for the traditional install via their website. I cannot understand why Serif are determined to dig their heels in over this but then again, I'm past bothering. There's more to life and as I've had my refund I'll stay with V1.
What this tells me is that this company is really not listening to their customers. I purchased the entire suite of V1 and requested as many others for WebP to be added and it was never added to the V1 applications. So I can't even say I will continue to use it because I will not, hopping to other applications to be able to use simple features like that is not what I want to do. I may as well continue using the applications that provide me with everything I need.
I still wanted to support them and went in blind and purchased the V2 apps (unknowingly) because they finally added WebP. I want the application I am going to finally settle on to come from a company that will also listen to its customers and provide them with all the tools they need and requested along the way. I know many requests will not be able to be added as it depends on many factors, but adding a file format, as WebP, is not one of those cases.

Not superior, just different. Why care where the program is when all you need to do it run & use it
EDITED TO ADD
you didn't say how it being an app caused issues to their workflow.
Why should I spoon feed this info when it is all over this thread or have to explain why I need this to be a regular application? I have no beef with you, but you need to understand people have long standing workflows that this breaks.

I went to the start menu list, pinned the 3 programs to the start menu, pinned them to the taskbar then I dragged them off the start menu to the desktop and all 3 had icons as they should. That was a day after an easy install. Getting them on the start menu, taskbar and desktop to under 1 minute probably 30 seconds max. Old windows pc. I do mot clutter my desktop with icons, I keep them on the taskbar (11 but room for 32 or more or start menu (82 with room for another 50 or so) where they belong (in my opinion) only need recycle bin on desktop..
I decided to do these steps and I got a shortcut on the desktop with the ico, but when I right click on the shortcut to bring-up the properties to see where the ico for it is located there is no way to do that! I can do that with the shortcut I created. So, seems the way I did is superior.

I can't understand why people are so against it as an app. I don't like windows apps but not because they are apps, just because they are crap.
Affinity is no different as an app to what it is as a standard install other than integrating it in to external programs but I have sussed that so both faststone (image viewer) and photo supreme ( dam ) can call APHOTO and open it with the selected image opened. Serif are working on a better method than a batch file.
So I should have known all of that and then lets forget about all the other issues this is bringing to customers and their workflow as explained here ad nauseum. You just decided to skip over all of that.

Thanks Mark. I'm running out of options because the 'move' operation didn't work for me. The following is the error I get when trying to move it and I've tried about 6 different 'solutions' in the MS forums. None of them work. Target drive has about 140GB free and is not encrypted or compressed. Sigh. Seriously, I spend 40+ hours a week at work with these kind of headaches and I just don't have the energy or interest anymore to research this at home (where I have it installed). I'll give this another 2 days and if there isn't an alternate installation process by Tuesday night, I'm requesting a refund (from the Affinity store) and I'm not even going to think about V2 for about another year and see if things have improved by then. This is the error I get when I try to move it off my c drive:
Wow, this forum is getting so tyrannical that even the act of Liking posts is censored/controlled.
I just wanted to express the sad emoji for you from a Like. Looks like I am only allowed once a day now.
Since I haven't heard back from the refund department I just installed Photo 2 and then added a shortcut on the desktop and had to create an ico file. I grabbed the icon.png from the MSIX file and created one from it. All this just to get a shortcut with an ico on the desktop.

I have installed all three on windows 10 today, none of the including the one 2 minutes ago gives me the choice of what drive to install on, all go under c:\Users\username\.affinity.
What am I missing?
II just decided to install Photo 2 and report here when I saw your reply. People are saying here that you can install anywhere. That is not the case. I too can vouch for this and if I have to jump thru hoops to change where I can install it, that's a problem, that's just one, then you have the other valid issues mentioned in this thread also.

Try the script in the post just above yours. It unsandboxes the app for me and makes it function like a normal Windows app
Thanks, but I opted for a refund. First, they never added WebP as an option to the version 1 apps and now this? I don't need to pay a company to make my life more complicated than it needs to be. I will stick with the open source programs I currently use, they have more respect for me and offer all the file formats I need. They get the job done.
I was willing to continue to support this company but clearly they have other ideas that don't include potential customers like me.

I purchased the Affinity V2 Universal License and now I am disappointed to find out about this! I should have read through the forum first.
I too would like to know if a normal application installer will be offered.

I understand where you are both coming but I absolutely detest Google's malignant and ill-informed decision to bring in yet another unnecessary graphics standard format:
Yeah, how do we like to use the "evil" WebP format! How dare we save a .PNG file that is 973KB in size into a 37.1KB file size for use on our websites to make them load faster. The gall!

The ultimate fault here lies entirely with Google who introduced yet another completely pointless and unnecessary graphic image format standard which adds nothing to all the existing formats that are already out there.
It ads a lot and the compression is the best there is. I have made my websites load faster by compressing 300KB and 100KB images down to as much as 60KB to 30KB. Not offering this feature is the reason I hardly use Affinity products.

I just purchased all three Affinity programs and I am disappointed that WebP is not included as an output format, so I add my voice in asking for it to be added.

After reading and listening to praises for Affinity Photo I decided to take advantage of the low prices and purchased all three applications.
I hope I too can praise the software as much and use them as my primary software for all my image editing.

Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program

So, moving forward with new upgrades and updates, will this be the norm, or are we going to get another surprise of only-app versions?
I got a refund but will like to purchase again if I can count on this always being a Windows application, too. (I do understand that this depends on Microsoft not being so tone death as to go Apps only in the future.)
