  1. Hi Admins

I can't work with AP and AD. I am creating and creating... and after 2 hours my work is lost. AD and AP is "rolling" and after many minutes my work is lost. It just disappeares.  The App is closed and there is no way to rescue the file. This issue was seen by me two days ago. What should I do? Where is the problem? Please help.

    Best Regards

    Anna

I hope you don't mind me adding one small critique about something which instantly came into my mind when seeing your images. The "UNIQUE DESIGN" at the bottom of the images shouldn't be in all caps. This font is not meant to be used in all caps—it decreases the legibility massively (and my old typographer's heart is bleeding! LOL).

As a rule of thumb, never use fonts which are very complex (handwritten fonts, German/gothic fonts etc.) in full caps. As an example, see your comic-style font to the left, in contrast to the text at the bottom, it's perfectly readable in all caps.

EDIT: And you might have to check your files for the second and the third image. The piggy banks at both sides are way more blurred than in the first image.

Thank You. I did not know it. I don't know why my piggies are different on the second and third image. I will work on it. Thank you once again.

  3. Guys - YOU ARE INCREDIBLE! Really - ALL OF YOU! I can only admire you. Thank You This is my work (possibly imperfect). But from the scratch to the end result I am a little bit proud of myself :) (only two days) - but I owe it all to you. Please do not criticize, just give advice on what to do better.

I know the right side is too dark - working on it. Also working on "splitting" pages on both sides v-kyr done.

Thank You - I am still learning and such people like YOU are THE BEST!

Um… make a photo of a book and erase the text content.
Or if you want it to be scalable, redraw the pages using vector shapes, study the original shadows on the photo, recreate them using gradient fills and layer effects, add some paper texture overlays, etc. etc.

    In other words:
    Be creative! :)
    Experiment.
    Post here how you proceed.

You are talking to a VERY BEGINER person haha :). When I was trying to erase the content ( affinity photo) I have spent few hours cause: what I have "deleted" was alive again at once (I was using inpaintig tool).

Loukash - I will be creative and will be doing experiments - but first need to understand many nomenclatures....

First I was dealing with mockup (you were the person who reveal this "idea" - now I can understand it and what more I have created my own mockup  (thanks to You).

Next I will be "scalable" - what does it mean :)

    Thank You

Instead of making a photograph of a book, you could even create a rectangle and apply a gradient to it (from some kind of light grey over white or a lighter grey, to light, but a little darker, grey again). Please note, on one side of the gradient, I made a small light (red arrow). This is one side of your book with a simulated lighting. Then you press Ctrl+J to duplicate this rectangle once. After that you move it horizontal, just about a mm. Then you can press Ctrl+J repeatedly and you will get a stack of book sides. Group that stack and repeat the same procedure with the other side of the book.

You should play a little with the gradient to let the lighting look a little more realsitic than in my sample. It is just a quick example.

It is incredible. Thank You very much!

All the 'lines' and 'shapes' are going to be in that file. Open it and save it as Trying Things Out.afdesign. Working on this Trying things.... file you should get farther along.

If you want to you could have it Embedded in your new document. Then by double clicking on the placed file, it will open in a new tab and you should be able to work on that.

I did as you wrote :). But now don't know what to do next to add dotted outlines.....

Did you keep the "Curves" layer selected while trying to adjust the contour?

wow! I know where the problem is.... my pc is reacting slowly to my "moves" and I am impatient

Now i got this and will work further - THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! You were so helpful!

Now I am going to understand Old Bruce :) - think I am "resistant to knowledge" hehe and next will be working on my scissor files

Ann, I think that Old Bruce means that you can use this drawing as a reference to redraw it with Pen Tool, placing it under or over your strokes as you wish. Having duplicated and renamed the file, you don't risk damaging the original.

All that remains is to apply the dotted lines to the outline: on the "Stroke" tab of the studio, click on "Dash Line Style", adjust the thickness of the line, then the size and spacing of the dotted lines by entering the values in the "Dash" windows.

Ok; I have got this. But cannot manipulate the outer dots (width) as You do......

Ok I will check; now I am fighting with your idea - and nothing works :( at all - I need to find out what I am doing wrong....
