  1. Thanks to the help received from members of the forum I think I have now got to grips with the Logo creation. Stuck some on a few simple 3d models I made in order to test... and they appear to be just what I wanted. Cheers, Raymond.
  2. v_kyr, Been watching the video again what would be the process for Curves ? is the curves on a new layer ? what would be the workflow for using curves, Once I have me logo open in APH. Cheers.
  3. Many thanks to all the folks on this wonderful forum The help provided is invaluable to me. My background is in Engineering design using Mcad software [ Siemens Solid Edge and Siemens NX ] also Substance Designer and Substance Painter with some 3DS Max thrown in. I have previously only needed Affinity Photo for simple adjustments. But now I feel I must use it more often even if only how to learn to do some more advanced tasks. This certainly is a great forum so very helpful and knowledgeable. I dare say during my learning curve there will be many more question forth coming😂 Many thanks.
  4. Attached is a sample logo. I need the Blue background to be transparent with only the logo and letters visible.
  5. Further to my previous thread on Logo's For which I received great help I now need to know if I can remove the background from a jpeg image to become transparent. Some of my logos that I have are in jpeg format and I need to convert them to png with a transparent background. Is this possible in Affinity ? I know of a website called "Free convert " that will do it but I would prefer to learn how to do it myself. Hopefully it will be possible in Affinity. regards, Raymond.
  6. ESPR, Thanks for the suggestion, now looks like I now have at least 3 way to achieve the desired results. Many thanks.
  7. Hi NathanC, Many thanks for your swift response to my question, the Logo you attached works perfectly when applied to the Substance Painter model. I shall now go and try to create some of my own using your suggestions. Cheers, Raymond.
  8. Hello folks, I dont use any photo editing software very much just for some minor adjustments, so could anyone tell me how to make the Blue area of the attached logo into White. I need it to display as White when used in Substance Painter. I have my fully licensed copy of Affinity on my machine. [The attached logos are in PNG format ] Cheers, Raymond.
  9. @kirkt many thanks for your reply, I will go and have a try shortly.
  10. Hello folks, I have an HDRI backgroung that suits one of my 3 d models perfectly only problem is ... If I scale up the model it then looks out of scale with the HDRI. So is there a method to scale up the HDRI using Affinity Photo?
  11. Hello Folks, Just a few pics of a Part modelled in Siemens Solid Edge and textured / rendered in Substance Painter. Then into Affinity for some minor adjustments. That is my ideal combination now. Solid Edge, for the Mcad Substance for the textures,, Nvidia Iray for the rendering engine and Affinity Photo.for the post processing. Nothing else needed .
  12. Got a better worn paint look now, but I am new to Substance Painter so I expect I will improve with practice. Still need to use Affinity Photo as Painter renders with no background, you have to add your own so Affinity will take care of that.
  13. Hi Folks, I have decided to use either Substance Painter , Substance Designer or Keyshot to achieve the look I want. I am really asking Affinity photo to accomplish a task that it was not designed for. Yes Wosven the paint does look too glossy... although that is easily fixed in Keyshot. It will just be a case of me getting to grips with either of the 2 Substance apps. I'm well used to Keyshot now. Both Substance designer and Keyshot are node based PBR authoring apps , [ Keyshot also renders ] Designer doesn't... it is purely for material creation. I might put a pic on here once I have all completed. Thanks to all.
