emilesilvis reacted to Lee D in Moving a flood filled "region" to a new layer
If you can undo the flood fill, then add a new Pixel layer. Now switch back to the Flood Fill Tool and on the Context toolbar set the Source to Current Layer and Below and then fill the area. This will then be on the new Pixel layer you created.
