I was having the same problem with all of the apps, which I had installed through the App Store. Downloaded and installed them from the site instead, now they launch immediately.

And yet it only happens with the Affinity apps. Other large universal apps such as Adobe, Ableton, Unity, etc have absolutely no problems launching in a reasonable amount of time on macOS.

Hi, I wonder is there any future update on changing this behaviour? Maybe with Cmd / Ctrl + Click or Opt / Alt + Click only to move the masked part?

    Welcome to the forums.
Is one of these what you want or something different? (The large text specifies the indent settings - Paragraph Panel, Spacing section - in inches that I used.)
If you want something different then it would be good to see an example.

This is an issue with my M1 Mini - incredibly all my V1 Affinity apps take about ten times longer to open than on my old 2012 MacBook Pro. No other software performs as badly. I thought it was an M1 related issue, but maybe not.

This slow startup problem needs to be resolved.  Affinity apps are by far the slowest starting apps on my Mac.  The slow startup really hurts Affinity sales when I try to show off these apps to clients.

Yes, Publisher handles that. After importing your text into the frame, you'll see the overflow icon (an eye symbol) and next to it a triangle icon. Shift-click on the triangle and Publisher will add the additional pages and text frames to hold the overflow.

Chapit Zulkefli reacted to Patrick Connor in [FAQ] Stock Panel no longer contains Unsplash
In the stock panel we list a selection of stock image providers for the convenience of our customers on the basis of it being a free service. Unfortunately in the case of Unsplash they have begun demanding license fees for their API which is the reason they have been removed.
The good news is this  only affects Unsplash, the other options of Pixbay and Pexels continue to be available.
Of course should you wish to use Unsplash images you can download directly from their website using a browser and then import into your Affinity apps by drag & drop or File -> Place, as you would with any other stock library not listed in the panel.

Go to the home screen, check your preferences to ensure your default save location is iCloud, close preferences, select the three bars and rename your work, then press save. File will be saved to your Affinity  Designer folder in iCloud that will have been auto created by this step. This folder is accessible in finder on your Mac. Open file on your Mac. This all obviously assumes you are using iCloud on both iPad and Mac.

I keep checking back on Affinity, since I'd love to be free of the Adobe ecosystem. I still haven't forgiven them for killing Macromedia Freehand.
As an information graphics designer, I would like to join the chorus in requesting a graphing tool for Designer. It still aggravates me that Adobe won't upgrade the tool, yet they keep charging me $60 a month for Illustrator (and the rest of the suite). I bought Affinity two years ago, and they haven't charged me any money since!
The Affinity products still lack a few things, and have some aggravating workflows, but that's a topic for a different forum. A graphing tool that outclasses Adobe (not a difficult concept, as Adobe's still hasn't changed in over 30 years) would be a most welcome addition.

Chapit Zulkefli reacted to Patrick Connor in Affinity Photo for macOS - 1.10.5
We are pleased to announce an update for the MacOS release of Affinity Photo, version 1.10.5
The detailed changes in Affinity Photo for MacOS 1.10.5 over the release build Affinity Photo for macOS 1.10.4 are as follows:
    Fixes & Improvements:
Updated the RAW import library Fixed possible registration failures (will now use the browser to complete registration, rather than attempt it in-app) Fixed the Overlay Paint Brush incorrectly starting at the edge of canvas. Live radial blur could show tiling errors on export. Background layer is blurred when re-opening afphoto file. Fixed Metal corruption on canvas when using FX. Partial fix to the Overlay Paint and Erase Tools (Develop Persona): painting "separated dots" (spacing issues) in small brush sizes. Attempted to fix graphics corruption for some users of earlier macOS versions. Fixed odd overlay brush behaviour on portrait RAW files. Help & localisation improvements. The major improvements in 1.10 since 1.9 are listed in some detail in this 1.10.0 Photo macOS update announcement

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, Affinity Photo > About).
If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Photo for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac app store purchases and needs a product key).
