No Blend Tool as of now but probably in a future update.
You can create a psuedo blend using Power Duplicate, so make your shape and add the fill you want, Press cmd + J or Ctrl + J on Windows then use the Transform Panel to move the duplicated shape by a small amount, then Press cmd + J Ctrl + J on Windows to make lots of duplicates

What Affinity products do, they generally do very well. What they don't do--well, sometimes you just have to remember the low price. Right now it looks like Affinity is focused on the Publisher-Photo-Designer integration, rather than adding features such as this. That to me is a good thing, but if you're trying to replace Illustrator it can be disappointing. Sometimes I open up Inkscape (now native on Mac) for something that Designer can't do.

    Installation of Software and Updates
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update. For the macOS release, in the application main menu there is an option "Check for Updates". Alternatively, you can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Updates are installed automatically (or manually by installing the new version over the old) Previous builds do not need uninstalling first. New installations of paid software downloaded from the Affinity Store requires a product key and email pair to use.
Software downloaded from the Mac App Store, Microsoft Store and iPad store do not require a product key and are updated through the relevant store:
If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.
If you’ve purchased from the Pad Store— Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t contact us if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

SirDragonDrop reacted to Sparafucile in Crash when using Refine Tool
I'm using AP version 1.8.3.641.  My computer is running Windows 10 Home 10.0.18363 Build 1863.  The computer has an Intel I7-7700 CPU with 16gB RAM.  I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with v 44587 driver.  I also have a Wacom Intuos PTS with driver v6.3.38-2.  The display is a Dell UP2516D with the appropriate display manager installed.
I am currently working my way through the Grilled Cheese Pull exercise in the AP Workbook.  When I select the sandwich and try to refine the edges of the sandwich, the system sometimes crashes (hangs) and the mouse is inoperable. This effect seems to be random.  Pressing any of the buttons or menu items with the mouse does not work.  However, I can save the work if I use Ctrl-S.  If I go to Task Manager using Ctrl-Alt-Del, Affinity shows 2 programs are running; Affinity itself and crashpad_handler.exe.  If I terminate Affinity and restart it, I can open the saved document and continue working on it.   Annoying but not disastrous.
    Please help.
    Sparafucile.

There's always room for improvement, but for a first try with zero experience, it turned out rather well. There's obvious bits that could improve, but it also depends on what you're aiming for. You come to a realization that these programs are so robust and the variables are infinite that there are several approaches to achieve your desired results. Some easier than others. Years ago I attended a Photoshop seminar and a question was asked of the audience in regards to a certain retouching method. Half of the audience responded in the positive. The speaker then showed through the use of choosing a different tool how to arrive at the same result in a fraction of the time with far better results.
Never get frustrated, as from this start you only get better as you go along.

Funny you mention that, I'm working on some web-based documentation and the favicon requires an ico file. So even on the web, we need this too.

Guys, not everything is made for the web.
EG: desktop applications... .ico and .bmp support would be welcome in my work.
It sucks that I have to export to .png from affinity, then opening paint or paint3d and re-save that to .bmp for example.
or that I have to use an online .ico generator ... would be a nice win for me personally to have my lovely affinity do all the things
    :)

not a very good Idea. The point of affinity designer is the vector environment meaning you can scale this thing without problems up to infinity if you like, and since good .ico files usually have multiple sizes, using a raster image isnt well, the best Idea.

if you can just let the export persona deal with the scaling for the ico files, that would be long story short, awesome.

    Hello everybody,

Using just PNG or GIF might seems as easy and OK option but if you want BEST results you need to have separate image for each scale of the icon, since in some cases the icons are very small and you really have to craft those image on the pixel level to make them crisp and clean. You cannot just resample the same image, that way you can get pretty blurry or aliased icons.

So the ICO is the must if you are concerned about best results.

I hope Affinity will get this feature soon, so we can export everything in the batch without having some special custom steps in production to construct ICO files manually.
