  1. Thank you Ash and Patrick-- your statements help. I won't be jumping ship anytime soon. I'm content to wait and see what happens. I must admit that the tone of much of this thread has been a bit more than I can stomach, so I'll probably be just lurking in the shadows, but I wish you all well.
  2. Wow, it's getting hard to keep up with this thread! Thank you Ash, and thank you to the rest of the team, for this. It really does help. We're all still sad and worried, though, and at the heart of it, for me, as for some others here, is that it's Canva. I would really like some assurance that, in continuing to use the software we love in the way we want to use it, we will be able to keep Canva entirely at arm's length. Hopefully arm holding a ten foot bargepole duct taped to a riot shield at the business end. I love Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. I do not like Canva, and I don't trust it.
  3. Well, I won't be dropping Affinity now. I do wish you folks at Serif all the best and I hope you will be able to continue to develop your software in the same direction you have been all these years. Your product is good-- very good. I know of nothing else that has the capability of the Affinity suite at the same level of accessibility. I am, like almost everyone else here, not hopeful for the future as far as this accessibility goes. When Affinity goes subscription, I will not go with it. I could not even if I wanted to. This is a hard barrier, and not just for me. My greater, more global concern is the steady erosion of good tools into the grand miasma of same-same Insta-friendly bland brandification of everything. What if we just don't want any of this stuff? I use image editing tools in a creative capacity. I have absolutely zero interest in anything Canva, or anything like it, has to offer. I exercise this preference by not using Canva. It's pretty easy, and I have everything I need with Affinity Photo and Designer. If I'm forced into the eternal christmas bliss of AI generated personal branding monetisations solutions, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go to get out. I do hope there will be a way for those of us who are not on that train to stay where we are.
  4. So I could! Too used to Discord yelling ‘too large’ at me, I guess. Thanks! Strangechilde’s Affinity Tools Cheat Sheet.afdesign
  5. I made a little cheat sheet for personal reference. If anyone else would find it useful, here you go! Strangechilde’s Affinity Tools Cheat Sheet.afdesign
  6. Late perhaps but I would like to add my 'Yes please' to this request. I know I can use a rectangle, but not having to go through this step every time for every artboard would be a great improvement.
  7. Thank you so much for these! Kind of a new user, just getting to appreciate how powerful brushes are; came here to see if anyone had made any nice dot-type brushes and... wow. This is a gem. You rock!
