  1. Two questions. After selecting an area with the flood select tool, I want to match the HSL of the surrounding area. When I attempt this, I get ugly borders around the selection. What is the correct procedure? Also, the flood select tool appears to create a mask layer automatically. Is this normal behavior?
  2. How do you select the color that you want to replace? (the target color?) I have viewed three tutorials and none of them show you how.
  3. Running Photo 1.8 for Mac, the fill tool does not work. I selected an area using the selection brush, then attempted to fill in the color with the flood fill tool. The Edit menu shows that the flood fill was applied, but it is not visible.
  4. No. When I select another tool by keystroke, it simply adds the shortcut to the keystroke to the text. I ended up with a lot of extra v's when trying to select the move tool. Of course, I can select another tool with the trackpad, but I strongly prefer keystrokes to mouse clicks.
  5. What a struggle! I finally worked out that to go from the text tool to another tool, you press <esc> plus the new tool. Apparently there is no keystroke that simply exits the text tool. It would be nice if this were documented somewhere.
  6. I got the keystrokes wrong. The correct sequence in FMPro is Ctrl/Cmd - Alt/Opt - Arrow. Thanks for the help. I'll try to set them up.
  7. To align a group of objects, select them and do Cmd/Ctrl and an arrow key, up to align tops, down to align bottoms, right to align right edges, and left to align left edges. Filemaker Pro has used this scheme in Layout mode forever, and as a Filemaker user, I find myself continuously frustrated in Affinity apps without those efficient shortcuts. The icons for these actions are so small as to be almost unreadable, and spill off the right of the screen, requiring the user to scroll using the equally-obscure small double arrows at the upper right. To distribute objects, change the Layer menu selection for Alignment to Distribute Objects. With the keystrokes for alignment available, the Alignment item would be superfluous and could be done away with. Any time another menu level can be eliminated, the user experience improves.
  8. @swishyhair - I loved Xara and I used it until Affinity came out. But I gave up on Windows, so I can't run Xara anymore. I haven't much need for 3D, but it would be nice to add depth to text or a logo.
  9. I tried this and I am unable to scale the result. If I click and drag on a control point, it bends the stroke. I would like to create a stroke using a brush from the studio, convert it to a shape and then resize it as I would any other shape.
  10. When leaving the Develop persona on a Mac, is there any way to close the window without getting prompted?
