Anton Peck got a reaction from Kal in Equilateral Triangles
Here's one for you that a lot of programs don't seem to get right:
    Perfect Triangles

Every so often, I need to create a triangle in a layout. It would be fantastic if the triangle was based on a true equilateral shape, where each side where the same length (rather than building a triangle based on a square, which results in two sides that are longer).

Additionally, Even when I can create a proper triangle with resizing one dimension by about 86%, the central rotation point is still mis-placed.

I've sketched something up so that you can see what I mean.

    Thanks!

Anton Peck reacted to Dale in Export a Slice
The Export persona in Affinity Designer is extremely flexible, allowing you to export whole pages, individual objects and layers, and custom regions as slices. Check the links for tutorials on each method.

Anton Peck reacted to MattP in Rotate canvas
This already works :) ...but I've disabled it... I wrote the view stuff to cope with arbitrary transforms at any stage, so we could even perspective-transform the whole view and everything would work okay... However, I would need to clip the quads that are making the checkerboard background appear and at the moment I don't do it, so that's why it's not enabled...

I've actually got the 'rotate' gesture recogniser hooked up to it already in the build you're all using, but it just returns at the top of the function to disable it! :) (I can spin the view using my trackpad and a rotate gesture on my version!)

So, it's definitely something we considered from the beginning (rui_mac is absolutely right that if we hadn't written it with this in mind it could be a potential nightmare to add!) and will be added one day, but for now it needs a small amount of work and I haven't got chance at present... Keep watching this space!

    Thanks,
    Matt

Anton Peck reacted to NeillDR in Slices - Custom resolution
At the moment, at least as far as I understand, a slice is only output at its current resolution (and multiples for iOS devices 1x, 2x and forthcoming 3x) as per its size on the canvas. It would be great if there was a way to manually set the output file resolution per slice. So for example, if a slice is set up for a section say 100 x 100 pixels on the canvas, a custom output size, such as 360 x 360 pixels could be specified for the target file. This would provide great flexibility. Multiple slices for the same area would then allow many different output resolution images to be generated for the same graphic (eliminating the need for having the 1x, 2x etc options).

The additional target output size settings would ideally be placed on the 'export options' panel and would contain a means of optionally fixing the aspect ratio and also be saved as part of the preset. Default presets could include 'iOS 1x Icon', 'iOS 2x Icon' etc.

    I hope this makes sense.

Fantastic, user friendly app! Keep up the excellent work.
