And the reason they give is bollocks, i'm a amateur programmer, i know..

You probably never scrutinized the images at 400% size to see what happens when you apply filters did you ?
I do cause i work with high res textures for my game developing, and i zoom in to see what happens, cause
every filter you apply can negatively affect your image in that you lose image quality.
And affinity has a lot of filters that degrades image quality very fast.
I must admit that there also some handy features that work well, but if you go and compare it to Adobe it lacks behind.

I don't want to convert DDS, i want to work in a layered document and be able to export that as DDS.
I can convert DDS files myself in many applications, even free ones like Paint.net.
That's why it is kinda silly that a paid program which is supposed to replace Photoshop (that what they advertised with years ago when i bought it)
can't do that, and that there is no plugin available to do that, for a good programmer it should be a single day of work to make a working plugin for this.
But yet in more than thousands days they never bothered..

Hi,
I made two templates, Horizontal and Vertical, for engraving effect. You can modify them as you want!  You can play with gradient fill layer, with BW adjustment, also you can replace the engraving files. (for a stonger effect, you can duplicate them, and then you have to play with opacity, you can pick-up another blend mode)
I attached them below, also a folder with some engraving patterns in .png.
I attached the final result, in a gradient and two colors, for the Vertical template.

There are many influencers and fanboys hyping this Affinity V2.0 release. They increased the price that it looks like customers get 40% discount. I hope they regret soon not offering a better option for existing customers.

One of the places I want to visit in my life is the North Pole because I really want to see Polar Bears in the wild. However, the population of Polar Bears has fallen very dangerously so we may no longer be able to see it in the wild. The biggest reason why polar bear populations are decreasing now is global warming and unfortunately I think we can't stop it. So this time, I worked a simple photo manipulation with affinity photo for deliver even a small message about global warming. I hope polar bears doesn't suffer anymore.

You can generate a Normal Map using Lighting live filter.
