You marked the node, not the control handle to the right of it, but I presume you’re looking for the iPad equivalent of Alt-clicking on the handle to make it disappear. You don’t actually need to do that in order to achieve a straight line between the nodes: you just need to move the two facing handles so that they lie on the straight line.

Thanks for your feedback.
An outline/offset tool is already planned. The Expand stroke command will be revamped to give more precise results with a minimal number of nodes.
