  1. It's new technology, and people don't like the change, as it's less flexible. Whether that makes it wrong depends on a trade-off with the benefits it also brings
  2. Please don't try to guess at other people's motives. Serif don't need it and it goes against the posting rules. Enough
  3. @Balveda and @myclay NO NO a million times no. I've hidden your posts linking to videos about changing folder permission and taking ownership of the installation folders. It will result in the software being unpatchable and possibly worse. Serif cannot offer software support to anyone changing folder permissions. If you posted this anywhere else please go and delete them now.
  4. Thanks. Could you try something for me. See if it works without the explicit path to the exe. I think it (surprisingly) should app_path=AffinityPhoto2.exe
  5. As far as licensing goes they are identical. Serif get more money when bought directly, but you need to sign all the applications in to one Affinity ID for the other apps to see the universal license, but that is true wherever you buy from
  6. There's not going to be a "fix" this is how MSIX work This is more likely than any changes to MSIX as those are out of our control, but there are no plans for this either
  7. @HeDa Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums Without first post moderation this place would be 90% spam and scammers. We do not think that waiting 10 minutes in order to join a community forums is a lot to ask.
  8. Updates would not install. Application would not clean uninstall/reinstall. Functionality in the app to keep content in sync had bugs not otherwise present
  9. @reisun Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums please can you try attaching that video to a reply
  10. To be honest I think that this is an oversight, could you please list which ones are obviously missing from the architecture section
  11. This isn't what has happened. We have sent emails to everyone we could determine had bought in the past few weeks and given them the equivalent V2 for free. Those complaining have normally owned for more than a few months but less than a year
  12. Those were sent to customers who we already knew had just bought (in the last few weeks) at full price
  13. When you wake up 1,000,000+ customers with an email many will find their important feature has not been implemented. Please don't think this is an attack, they are real owners with real concerns. Particularly do not harass upset newbies, they can only be calmed by listening and NOT by accusing them of being part of some conspiracy to undermine us.
  14. Add your own template having chosen from here if you use one size a lot
  15. The most extensive list is in the What's new in the help file inside the software and here affin.co/photo2help
  16. I have hidden that post. The advice is not only going to make your software unsupported but also everyone who uses it fail to get future updates. I appreciate your intentions were good but the consequences of using that approach are very difficult to undo, as we discovered in testing Please can you not repost it. (Note this post has been edited to remove my panic first reaction)
  17. Although family sharing has always been more generous than the Serif license, we had it for version one and have it for version 2 also
  18. In the first desktop patch we will add a suggestion in V2 to use "Save as..." when opening a V1 file, so that only the "Save as" file is saved in V2 format avoiding overwriting the original V1 file.
  19. The list of presets have been kept limited deliberately to keep the scrolling past normally unused sizes (there are very few desktop printers larger than A3) If you go to the Document setup dialog then all the sizes are still available in those sections
  20. @Fabbio + @rsraz Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums Fabbio Although this seems to help the method you showing only a temporary work around. It will need redoing every time the software updates/patches because the path of MSIX installs includes the version number. It will others help until we release a better technical solution
