ASLdesigner, Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Thanks for the suggestion. Having been involved with hard of hearing and BSL users for over 25 years I do appreciate the reason for your request. I have already asked the documentation team to make the scripts available, and potentially add titling, but was told that scripts do not exist for most of them. We currently do not have subtitling facilities but plan to improve our video facilities. I will point this thread out to them.

zuriel, Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Serif do not plan to produce the Affinity Designer Workbook in any other languages. English and German are the only ones for this printed publication, sorry.

Raghu, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Please be aware that the trial version is exactly the same as the purchase version. There are no missing or disabled features. If you cannot find a feature then perhaps you have not appreciated that there are 2 programs different Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo with independent features. Perhaps you are looking at tutorials for one and not for the other. Also the Windows version and the Mac version are as identical as possible so there are no major feature differences, only OS differences like Finder/Explorer.

Jindra, We tend not to make feature changes in minor point releases (1.5.1 to 1.5.2) and concentrate on fixes. You need to appreciate that because Affinity Photo is a MAc App store application we are sandboxed (or we could not sell through the app store for security reasons). That means that we simply cannot see the sidecar files as I understand it. If we moved away from selling through the Mac App Store then this would be easier to program.

You didn't miss it, this very oversight was addressed in the German version of the book (following the confusion on this for the English version), and this would be changed for any second run of the English book. It should have been explained on Page 9 in the "Project Resources" section but the actual file access was not explicit, sorry

simpatico, Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums :) Our trial version is 100% functional. You do not need to uninstall and reinstall at all. If a tool is non functioning it is caused by you not having the correct type of layer or object selected . That always determines the enabling of the tools.

Hopefully it's enough time to realize Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are two independent applications. It amazing how many people buy one app thinking its the other and don't understand why the video tutorial (for the other app) can't be followed!

We have had to stop delivering to China. as we had so many problems. Despite the high delivery charge by our fulfilment service it was unreliable. I will see if there is anything that can be done. We do deliver to Hong Kong if you can get it posted on by someone there. We could attempt another delivery manually, but the lead time is over a month and Amazon fulfilment tend not to supply tracking on these orders, making them very frustrating from your part and ours.

No it shouldn't I understand what you meant. The next beta will be 1.5.3.nn then 1.5.3.nn+1, then 1.5.3.nn+2 before the next retail 1.5.3.nn+3 meaning we are beta testing 1.5.3.xx while 1.5.2 is the release version. End of

It is very confusing. It's not that confusing. The previous release was 1.5.1.43. All the customer betas after that were called 1.5.2.xx (46, 47, 48, 49 - 57). These customer beta builds were all leading up to a release build of an official 1.5.2.xx. Next we will do a customer beta of 1.5.3.xx (but only if we need to update 1.5 again before 1.6.0 is ready to go to customer beta).

We are pleased to announce the second update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.2). The update is described here and can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it. To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software. If you have installed any previous customer beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.2, it can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. Thanks Alfred, do they all use site: as the syntax?

Turns out the search cannot search for 1 2 or 3 letters, so the minimum search is 4 (I've changed the setting so it reports the same when you look for FUR) The blocked words list is not obvious in the admin control panel, but I understand why HTML is blocked.
