Testflight emails are what should show up for email subscribers (as opposed to anonymous ones using new the "public link" process). You can always follow this thread instead where I try to announce new any iPad beta within 12 hours of it being made available.

I have explained as best I know, and I agree there is some inconsistency in what I said re some other apps and yet we do know that our non-app-store version is identical and yet starts quickly. I am awaiting more feedback from the developers and will come back and report progress again here (unless it just clears itself up in an OS update)

Please can users of this beta also test the new registration process and look at the My Account feature (top right), where Product registration and store content streaming into the application have been added, We have now added the ability to link your Affinity app to your Affinity account through a new app registration process. This will have the advantages of you being able to stream any content you have purchased (or received for free from the Affinity store) directly to all your apps without having to manually install them. This is of particular use to customers who have more than one of our apps, or run our apps on different devices and operating systems as all your content will automatically be available across all of them. If you register the beta app you will initially receive a free brush kit (the luminance brush kit) for testing purposes. This might be a kit you already have, but if you don’t you will get it for free. Over the next few weeks this will be expanded to include all of the store content you may already own. Please report anything you find IN THAT THREAD rather than in this announcement

Thanks. I have edited the list (English), as it happens the change is actually that you can choose not to convert them to spreads, as they are retained as artboards until you choose to convert in the pages panel. Thanks for pointing that out and for the reminders Walt & MEB. It makes round tripping Designer -> Publisher -> Designer possible without losing the Artboards

Yes, the beta will install as a separate application - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry. This beta is significantly different from the 1.8.x version available for purchase - we strongly recommend that you do not use this beta for real work as data could be lost and the files you save are not guaranteed to open in previous / future versions of Affinity Designer.

My only guess is that the text is not 100% black and the printer has used a poor dither to make grey.Perhaps it's a colour profile issue making true black into grey as the printer sees it, and then a print dither issue on that colour. Are your files CMYK native or RGB? Lee asked for a sample file can you provide one?

This is is simply an incorrect understanding. The same team who wrote PagePlus are writing Affinity Publisher. These programmers can access the legacy code (if desired), but there is no need, they wrote it and know how they wrote it. Legacy code and the Affinity code is not shared as the implementation and architecture are not similar. This feature needs writing using the current language spec and using the current OS independent architecture and algorithms. Code like this is not simply plug and play

Release the CTRL key check the last option "Reset Account Data" and choose "Clear" The application will start with that option reset

yes I do, as the mac is the one you cannot get to work as I understand

There is a known issue on Mac when using "Print Selection" with the "Book layout" or "Booklet layout" option selected on for the current release of Publisher on Mac. Does this sound like your issue, or are you getting crashes for other combinations?

That looks normal, so in what way different @Mark Oehlschlager? (mine is a Windows Screenshot so there will be subtle differences for that) If you mean the content, then yes I have more than you, giving me a scroll-bar. The triangles are clickable to pop-down/open

Good to hear about the Windows beta build. If you CTRL+Run up the Designer 1.9.0.11 beta is there an option to "Reset Account Data"? (at the bottom of all the options available to reset). (We know the current Photo beta on macOS does not include all the latest changes and is awaiting a rebuild)

@Tzvi Freeman Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums Can you please confirm what macOS you are using? I think this may be an independent issue from the one that was certainly fixed, even if it seems similar to your description.

If your software does not have the "Check for updates" as the 2nd option in the "Affinity Photo" menu, then it was not bought from the Affinity Store so is from the Mac App Store. Also if you were an "early adopter" we have had our own store since November 2016, purchases before then were certainly not on the Affinity Store. (I can see the date you joined the forums was Feb 2015, which was during the beta phase before Affinity Photo was launched on the Mac App Store in July 2015) Finally there is only one user on our store with your surname, so it doesn't seem to be bought under another email address in your name.

This sounds like a mistake I will check what the correct behaviour is now.

@Scubapro Welcome to the Serif affinity forums This shows us that this has been directly caused by a (security?) check that Apple have put onto the Mac App Store at least as often as each run after a computer restart. Serif are still looking into what we can do about this, but this seems to be a direct consequence of a change Apple have made for Big Sur and the mac app store specifically, as otherwise identical builds from the Serif Store do not have this pause when you start them. Other universal applications are apparently affected less than ours (I am told), but if we released the 1.9.0 beta tomorrow to the Mac App Store, then that same binary would do this slow start also, so the speed of the beta is only useful to understand that the problem lies with new Apple processes. It may go away in a Big Sur update.

@Eike_Eikerkopf Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums For any purchase (like yours) direct from the Serif Store the advice is different than that given by Callum for the Mac App Store. Please email AffinityOrders@Serif.com and they should be able to guide you, although I think you can download a receipt directly from your account
