Can you provide a sample/screenshot? If the correct ICC profile is set for the monitor in the OS, then the colors of the canvas/document and UI should not differ.

not in windows , windows only supports a small subset of icc profile options  , thats why programs on windows have to implement it themselfs. Krita and Photoshop  have it, Clipstudio and Affinity progs dont

  2. yes you are hardware calibrated , directly in the monitor . that means everything is colormanaged by default and you can just choose srgb in os and progs (or choose nothing at all)

im not that lucky , im calibrated with an idisplay pro through and icc(icm) profile ... krita  and photoshop  have colormanaged ui(colorpicker etc.) but affinity photo , clipstudio paint and sCapture.PNG.e21534632d17219cd255c615b347597c.PNG

ill attach a screenshot ... the big red strokes and the color picker are supposed to be the same color.

  3. Hello, coming from Clipstudio Paint i had a really nice big color history , the one in affinity photo is just 10 entries , would be nice if we could choose how big our colorhistory is. Complicated illustrations have clearly more than 10 colors and it would be nice to actually choose them as value instead of picking a  variance of it from the canvas.

If the color history could be saved and loaded together with the file would be the best colorhistory ever (clipstudio cant do this either, but it would be an awesome feat. )

    thanx

  4. Hello, the first thing which springs to the eye when opening up any of the Affinity programs, is that the UI isnt colormanaged.

Means -> Color Chooser, Swatches and Navigator show entirely different Colors than whats drawn in the viewport (use an idisplay/spyder calibrated wide gamut monitor to test this) . Thats kinda bad , in Photoshop they also colormanage the swatches and the color chooser ( i could live without the navigator but the other two are important).

I guess this is a core feature missing the devs notice(you wouldnt really notice unless you use a wide gamut monitor i guess).

Most new good Monitors are wide gamut monitors so its kinda important to add this feature as fast as possible

Perhaps more appropriate to suggest to the developers of Actual Window Manager that they debug their code, and fix it so it doesn't cause issues with the Affinity programs. It should be their responsibility to work properly with the programs they try to control, rather than the responsibility of all programs to work with Actual Window Manager (and any other alternative window manager that may be developed).

well normally yes , but in this case actual window manager already complies to the standard windows ui api, thats why it works with all other progs  ... affinity seem to have build their ui with some additional libraries which conflict with actual window manager and other similar tools.

since affinity progs are compiled, affinity would need to share their sourcecode with the AWM developers, which might be problematic . or they would need to hack or emulate that, which is probably not good

of course i wrote the AWM devs too on their forum. but i think this is easier handled by the affinity team .. maybe its not possible at all , that they used a complete different ui and not the windows one

  6. I'm using this awesome tool for windows called "actual window manager". it hooks into the window and provides additional options and control.

publisher and designer´crash though when the tool trys to hook their windows, the tool works on pretty much all other programs without problems. would be supernice if you guys could look into it , i guess its only something small  to resolve.

    Thanx

I would guess this is functionality on the side of Dropbox. Affinity files include previews of their content. (There is a discussion that these previews are a little too small for some users but that's a different thing 🙂 )

    d.

i thiknk both companies need to contract and dropbox probably wants to have money for that functionality ... google cloud also renders excel , word , openoffice,  pdf etc. previews in the free version and i think its more likely google adapts affinty first

  8. Affinity Publisher also always crashes when i open it without loading a project (doubleclicking an afpub file).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i was going nuts yesterday when publisher would crash on export, printing and also saving sometimes...

    Seems the culprit was:

i was using different page/spread layouts thoughout the document, i was making a flyer and wasnt so sure about the final proportions like upwards or sidewards and two different sizes to choose from.

today i made the different documents with fixed page size and they export and print fine
