    I don’t think you can snap that way.
    You can create a new node in the centre of the horizontal line and then drag that to snap it to the other curve but you will then have to manually adjust the new curve to suit.
    Or you could use the Geometry tools, but that how you would do that would depend on how your other curve is defined.

    In illustrator the curvature tool automatically creates a smooth node at the click, hold and move point, an all in one move tool.
    In Affinity you add the node change it to a smooth node and then move it.
