  1. Here we are in March 2024 and I am just coming into using Designer, V2. Same problem. That is what led me to this post. I have a few brushes that I imported from somewhere, Dollar Store fine liners that say "Closed Curve brushes." these work. So I duplicated an outline brush and experimented with changing all the other properties to replicate the effects. But, it didn't work. I am not a computer developer, not even close. Are we getting anywhere in this story of Close curve brushes?
  2. Hi Walt, thank you once again. It worked! you're still the best!
  3. I own and have registered and upgraded all 3 personas to V2.4. I can open Designer in Publisher but not Photo. I keep getting the same message to buy and register Photo. I have signed out, signed in, everything I could think of but nothing works. Is there no help/support for V2?
  4. Yes you can. It is just like any other app. You have to use VM Fusion or something like that. I had it all worked out and installed, but there was some glitch that stopped me in my tracks. So I just went back to using Mojave. I just got another computer, as mine is pretty beat up and it came with Catalina on it. So I but V2 on it but haven't used it yet because I don't want to commit to it yet. Once you open a file in V2 I understand you can't take it back to V1. One thing for sure I don't like about V2 is the new tool icons. They are senseless to me. The old ones weren't broke, they didn't need fixing. They were clear what they were .
  5. Oh, I figured it out. the fill was on and I turned it off. It's nice, simple.
  6. I tried a couple of brushes with the pencil tool I can't figure out what that light grey fill is in around the stroke
  7. That is my issue too! I am still on Mojave because I don't feel like I can live without IPhoto and Dashboard! I tried using Catalina as a VM, or using Cat. as the main OS and using Mojave as a VM and it was all too complicated for me. I wonder what you think about this? I will try what you are saying, I like the sound of it. I wonder what the brush selection is like. I will look now, thanks.
  8. Oh! I wish I could understand all this better. I just fumble along! I really appreciate your help. So you haven't switched yet to V2? I have lots of questions about that.
  9. I selected everything on the page and made a new AD page and pasted it on there. I placed that on my AP menu and exported it and it Worked! thank you for your suggestion, and all your help!
  10. It has said all along that the file is only 2.6mb, which is smaller than all the others.
  11. This is not an artboard. I don't know how to use them. I only recently started to learn AD. I did wonder myself at the huge file in resource manager in AP. I brought the drink page (the problem page) into Photo and in one view, see below, the size was massive. So I made it 8.5x11 inches again and saved it. I don't know why in one of the screenshots below, the drink page on the menu file in AP says embedded. Is that because it is placed? All the others were placed as well. I am really having problems, and need to get these to the people that are waiting for them. I appreciate any help I can get!
  12. Here are the settings on the drink page, that is shrunken and then the salad page that is normal. both seem the same to me.
  13. Made a brand new Publisher file and pasted my designer files into it and the same thing happens. It must be with the drink page itself but I can't see any difference in the settings in it.
  14. The same thing happens to me when I export it as a jpeg that one page is thumbnail size. If I try to drag it bigger, in Publisher, it snaps to, normal size. but when I export it again, it is shrunken. I need help!
  15. I actually did that several times and even used a different designer file and the same thing happened!
  16. One of the pages stays small, like a thumbnail. I have tried everything I could think of and then some! Help would be so appreciated. thank you in advance. 17. A. I turned the square tip around with a handle but every time I do that it leaves an "ice cream cone" at the end, that I don't like. B. I can't get rid of those "tails, points, appendages." No matter what I do it seems like a waste of time. C. same as B. D. Those square ends that must have started in the beginning of the stroke. Boy, I've given you all a LOT of homework! Can't wait to hear back from you.
  18. in the picture below the left is a pixel drawing and the right is vector with smooth brush. I want to achieve the look of the left but smoother and neater and with no deterioration as it is worked going forward.
  19. And ... I am finding that it is way easier to use a smooth solid brush for drawing and editing, as below. But I would like to add a SLIGHT roughness to the edge so it's not so perfect. I have tried to make brushes for that but can't do it. Is it possible?
  20. Hi. I am new to Designer. Got tired of all the tweeking on the hand drawn menus I do getting fuzzy in photo. Trying vector brushes. I am having all sorts of problems and need some help from my friends! I have the end caps set to rounded but they come square. I have very little control over the letters after I draw them. Help! thanks;) Upon a little more experiment the brush stroke starts square and ends rounded. How can I get it to start rounded too? and how can I clean up the messy bits that the nodes don't touch?
  21. NO I DIDN'T! you are right. That did it! Problem solved. Thank you so much for your help!
