CPP got a reaction from Aarkeus in DAM recommendations
I currently use Media Pro from Phase 1. It used to be called iView Media Pro before it was purchased first by Microsoft and then by Phase 1. Unfortunately neither of these two companies has done much in the way of further development of the product. It is an excellent DAM but has the downside that it does not support Afphoto or Afdesign files; also it is still 32 bit software. I read the other day that sometime in the next couple of years Apple is likely to require that all applications are 64 bit and therefore it will no longer be  possible to run Media Pro unless in a VM.
Then, a week or so ago I discovered a DAM product called Neofinder (Mac only) which is 64 bit and which does support Afphoto and Afdesign files. The cost for a single user licence is $40 but before you buy you can download a free trial version. Unlike Media Pro there seem to be regular new releases of the product. I recommend that you give it a try.

MEB advised you to “delete” the old Affinity application, not the App Store app …

    Hi CPP,
Don't delete the App Store app.
Drag the Affinity Designer or Photo application from the Applications folder to the Trash. Then Run the App Store app again, go to the Purchased tab (on top) and click the corresponding Install buttons for Affinity Designer or Photo to install them again.

    @Thanks Oval.

CPP got a reaction from anon1 in Beginner.. Need HELP
Here are three ways to do it. Number 2 is probably the most convenient.

    1. In Finder select the photo you wish to open in Affinity Photo and ctrl-click. You will be offered a choice of applications with which to open the photo. Select Affinity Photo
    2. Open Affinity Photo and from the menu at the top of the screen click on File and then from the drop-down menu select Open. Then navigate your way to the photo you wish to open and click on it. Then select Open
    3. In Finder select the photo you wish to open and drag it on top of Affinity Photo in the Dock

As to what you do when you've opened it I recommend watching some of the tutorial videos.

    Good Luck

    Hi CPP,
The easiest way it to find a vector map of UK, with all counties already drawn on the net :)
If you want to know how to do it yourself, i would start drawing the counties with the Pen Tool. You can use boolean operations to remove the areas where they overlap, so you don't have to the redraw the same lines for the boundaries.

    Hi all,

Check out this brand new tutorial where I show you how in less than 30 mins you can go from creating and designing a website in Affinity Designer to Prototype for your client.

I too was going to suggest HSL adjustments by first adding an HSL adjustment layer and then inverting its layer mask by Cmd-I following which you can paint in on the mask in white the areas to which you wish the adjustment to apply.

    Thanks Leigh.

I was trying to resize pasted images by using the Resize Document menu which of course resized all layers; by using the Move tool instead I can resize just the pasted image which is what I want.
