  1. Found it; cutting between two node's isn't a subfunction of the KNIFE tool, it is a subfunction of the NODE tool. With control the red 'X' will appear and cuts that section thanks !
  2. Hi you all, loving V2 so far but can't find a function. There is this YT video with someone showing how to cut a line within the KNIFE tool and after that doing some magic keyboard commands and remove the section in between two nodes. Unfortunately this example is from MAC! How to do this in WIN ? can't find it ?! thanks
  3. Thanks a lot guys ! That did the trick 🙂 The plan is the project the horn with my laser but the figure was too complex for the laser. That's why I had to reduce the number of paths best regards H
  4. Hi you all ! After fidelling some time with the node tool I gave up.................. Please take a look at the horn-original, the idea is to entirely cut the middle section of the horn. But that's easier said then done 🙂 each node which I cut gives more and more 'black' instead of 'white' area because they are all connected somehow. how to proceed? it almost seems that drawing a new one from scratch is faster ?! any thougths? thanks H
  5. Hi Bruce, What you are suggesting is like this? (see photo) I think we mean the same. I had this thought: when I export each file separately choosing 'whole document' each time, the picture is different each time but the canvas isn't. Maybe that is the problem? thanks h
  6. Hi There, The goal is to create an animated SVG with each frame a separate file. My software (laseros.com) is the limiting factor and will only process separate files to create an laser animation. so: created this file with 23 layers of the same SVG beetle, each having a different size to end up with a zooming-beetle-effect in my lasershow. each layer and slice is a different size, you can see that when you click on. Unfortunately the exported files show all the 23 images with the same size. any ideas on how to fix this ? thanks in advance! H
  7. Thanks Gnobelix! Merge Curves did the trick and ends up giving the same output as XOR (with my file) Best regards, Henk
  8. Hello j-king, did you find a solution to your crash-problem? I'm experiencing similar problems when using the XOR function. @Staff: Please take a look at the attached file, it's a simple drawing made out of several curves which I would like to combine into one curve using XOR The result is that my PC (windows 10) consumes lots of memory, CPU and disk and after a while affinitiy stops working and after that crashes and exits. Any ideas? Opener_Empty.afdesign
  9. 😀😀😀😀😀😀 Yes!! The SVG works, thanks a lot! How did you manage to group everything and convert it to CURVE ? And would you please share the export settings with me ? Wil je een krat of een sixpack bier ? Gr H
  10. Hello Wonderings, thankyou for your input! The waterjet cutter software accepts either DXF or SVG. The file above (adele schopenhauer) is red by the software correctly. but I can''t find out what is different. What exactly the file format must be I don't know, I will ask them. Could you explain a bit more what you mean by 'CutContour' and how to do this ? Thanks a lot Henk
  11. Thanks a lot Garry P, Could you please have a look at this file Adele Schopenhauer.svg ? What is different from the other file I posted yesterday ? Tried creating a new document without background; no luck. And something else, the different curve items are bundled together called 'Group', is that ok? or should it be one item called 'curve' Maybe the file needs to be without layers?! and how to do that? Best regards, Henk liftarn_Adele_Schopenhauer.svg
  12. Hi You all! Trying to export my design as an SVG to be able to cut it with my waterjet. 😀 Tried all kinds of different settings and export options without luck. 😐 What I'm looking for is a step by step guide to prepare my files into the right format and or some checker functions which detects errors and so on up front. Attached is one of the files I'm trying to export. Or is the conclusion in the end that I would be better of with an expensive piece of software ? I was just starting to like Affinity! Any help appreciated thankyou Henk Langenberg Bordje.svg
