Hi Elon,
to avoid the curved corners not to be resized when you resizing the "hammer", you have to "bake" the corners with the corner tool.
The 2. is change the boolean operation of the "highlights" in the compound from "add" to "substract".

The two white shapes (the reflections) are curves, you have to select them and do "Expand Stroke" to make the compound.
@Ray S. Thanks for the "bake" corners guidance. That worked!
@Ray S. @G13RL The highlights/reflections are driving me nuts. I've tried your suggestions. I still loose the white reflections. When I Create Compound, the reflections still disappear and the whole image becomes black. If I Subtract, the reflections are removed but that means if I put the image on a yellow background for example, the reflections turn yellow. The only way I've been able to keep the entire image is by making it a symbol. Any thoughts?
I sincerely appreciate your help.

Dear Group - Noob here. I've recreated the attached symbol the best way I've learned in a few days. My problem is 2 fold.
1. When I resize the symbol and zoom in, the top and bottom curves go from being slightly rounded to fully rounded. Top is the original shape. Bottom shows more curved shape.

2. When I try to create compound, the 2 white shapes (highlights) disappear

I've attached my layers panel to show before and after Create Compound.
Thanks for your help

@budaloco I know this post is years old but I was getting frustrated with trying to make some social media logos work in AD and stumbled upon this template. Thank you so very much!
