  1. Test failed as longurls expire after 1min. Resorted to Word for this Mail Merge. Looking forward to seeing Data Merge improve in Publisher.
  2. Images are remotely hosted on a web server that generates them which is why I'm using URL's to point to them and yes they are being added during the merge. I solved my current problem (I think) by exploding the short URL to the long URL (that points direct to the PNG QR code image) prior to the data merge using an Excel script and will use that as the image source. The problem is with the shorturl and the Affinuty app which is expecting a successful server response and instead is getting a new location (redirect) which is confusing it. Will test shortly.
  3. I'm currently attempting a mail merge that has pre-generated QR codes. The source URL's are shortened as SHORTURL.qr and are then redirected/expand when they are requested to a LONGURL.png source and this fails during mail merge. The redirect itself works fine, just Publisher (and most other mail merge tools) needs a direct link to a source and can't seem to handle the redirect. So either fixing the source URL issue to follow the redirect OR generate the QR code on the fly from the source data during the merge would be very useful.
  4. Yes, that is an option and works to a point. This requires most of the textual content to be held in excel, which isn't a good text editor (yes, you can copy and paste from word). When changes to be merged are significant like a whole paragraph disappears leaving a large white space it does impact the design. What I'm looking for is a way to conditionally control the design and content such as changing the master template or font size etc.
  5. Hello Community, I've been using the beta version of publisher with mail merge reasonably successfully, however I've discovered a requirement I don't believe is currently supported which is conditional logic merging. What I want to do is merge different content based on the value of another field - which is acting like a switch. i.e. if field value Xi = "yes" then field value Xo = Yi1 otherwise Yi2. This could be expanded even further to allow different master pages (templates) to be applied during the merge etc. Could this be supported ? Thanks, Nic
  6. Thank you for responding Mark and for suggesting those workarounds.
  7. Many thanks @Jon P. Do you have any visibility when or if a new Beta might be released that addresses these issues ?
  8. I've uploaded the files as requested and given my forum email address which is not the same as the software account email address @Jon P.
  9. Hello Affinity Forum, I recently purchased Publisher (already have Photo & Designer) having read about the Beta release that includes Data Merge capabilities. I'm using Beta version 1.9.0.850. So, I decided to give it a try and designed a quick 4 page document with 3 sections (Front, Body, Rear) that had Master Pages applied to each section accordingly. When I connect to the Data Source, which only has a single record, and inserted the data fields everything looked fine. If I then begin the Merge process with the first (and only record in the data source) I can see a preview of the data merged which is currently limited to just the cover page (only page with fields) and looks as it should. However, if I then "Generate" the merged output I get a new document where the Master Pages are not applied correctly and none of the data is merged. It seems to immediately lose the connection with the original data source which is an Excel XLSM sheet and misapply the Master Pages. Is there a workaround or is this functionality currently broken as I'm attempting to complete a project with it. Happy to provide any source files. Here is everything setup and looking like it should: Here is the result of the Data Merge "Generate":
  10. +1 I'd love to see an e-sig / digital signature feature within Affinity. Using a second app is not efficient or always effective.
