I agree 100%. In fact I have bought the package, and it’s quite useful.
However, the point about the skimpy basic transform operations goes back to at least 2017. There have been inquiries from paying customers all the way through, because these are BASIC tools for a vector design application, going all the way back to Fontographer, the grandmother of Aldus/Macromedia/Adobe Freehand (RIP). I was a beta tester in the late 1980s for Freehand, and Fontographer before that!
But yes. Please support innovative small developers.
But developers, communication is the key... What UP!?!
    Thanks!

    Skew tool is pretty monodimensional.
No vertical skew? No Distort, Warp, Mesh distort? These are all fundamental. This discussion goes back to 2017, for crying out loud.
What is going on with this???
    This is a painter’s app, apparently, not a designer’s.
But even a painter would use a ‘perspective’ warp/distort to adjust elements in the initial sketch.
I sure hope there’s some action happening on these very foundational, very fundamental, essential transforms.

I guess I can't find anything in @Jowday comments which indicates an inherent desire to criticize. Indeed "whining" it is not.
No reason to take this stuff personally, even in a pandemic great eclipse !
I'd very much like to hear what, if any, timeline exists for this app.
There's enormous potential, but software needs developer hours and weeks. It doesn't continue to grow and mature by itself 🙂
As a type designer, in 1985, I was a beta tester for one of the very first vector design apps, Altsys Fontographer. I later worked with Adobe on Illustrator, Freehand, and InDesign, over the years. The desire for a good tool that behaves as expected is not whining, it's just wanting to be constructive and productive.

Attached, a little bit of digital/analog evaluation. I studied letter carving in stone many years ago (before fontographer, even!), But I've done very little of it since then.
To help keep from losing the form, one must constantly take a rubbing of  the stone, and evaluate. This is a sort of digital rubbing 🙂

    Hi @ErrkaPetti
I reacted with my "graphics" tip on the Post from ashf
where he wrote about Xara "Hmm. Looks good! Too bad
it's not an app! And windows only!?"
I understand that this is may be a wrong post here.
    So than sorry for that.
But i dont understand this comment from you:
"Affinity Designer on both iOS and Mac/Windows is miles
      ahead this Graphic crap"
By the way I own Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo
on Desktop and IOS and like both very much.
Graphic still run fine on my iPad and have some Features
that Affinity Designer do not have.
So, a more differentiated commentary would be nice.

This is not a necessary discussion for a free transform tool. It’s well established how this function works. It’s not a “feature idea”, it’s almost as basic a tool as drawing bezier curves.
Google “illustrator free transform” for quite literally hundreds of different uses.

That’s a fair enough question, but yes, I do take it for granted in this case, it’s really that basic a function.
The feature is also already implemented (destructively) in Photo, so the developers definitely know what we are asking for.

+1 for free transform of course.
I'm sorry to say this, but I think Mr. @Jowday is right. He may be a little bit bit upset, but you can't ignore the fact that despite so many posts and requests producer bravely does not respond to them.
And this is not about returning 50 bucks. (it was just low)
Producer set such price. As a customer, Mr @Jowday and others too, are  justified in expecting at least a fair answer.

Are they planning to add such functionality or not? Nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe someone from the Affinity team could respond to these requests?
Don't get me wrong. I love Affinity suite, but sometimes it would be nice to see that they take voices of customers seriously.
That our proposals do not end up in moderator's trashcan.

I'd like to make a request for something I used ALL the time in Macromedia FreeHand: the Find & Replace Graphics panel.
It is one of the most time saving and amazing things even put into graphics software and I miss it greatly. Adobe still has a page up with some very old looking screenshots of it from Mac OS 9: https://www.adobe.com/support/freehand/programs/creating_animations/creating_animations03.html

You could basically find anything in your document and replace it with something completely different. Colors, strokes, stroke widths, symbols, overprint attributes. The list goes on. It was an amazing boon to productivity when dealing with very detailed illustrations or many-page documents.

Yes, definitely - I'm really sorry, I didn't fully consider the consequences of not including this tool in Designer I will try to add it for next time, but it might be a preferences option to enable it (so that we retain a visual consistency between versions for other users)
    Thanks!

Hi affinity team, I have a features request and it’s really really simple. I have designer on my iPad but since I am a Quadriplegic (paralyzed from neck to below extremities) and doesn’t have a finger function, I am having a hard time panning because there are no panning options in the toolbar and it lets me use my 2 fingers to Pan the workspace which is I find it hard to do since I can only do 1 touch at a time hehe. But Affinity Photo have this option. Could you guys please add this feature to your next update? It would mean a lot to some people like me who aspire to become a graphic artist but with limited physical disability. I am promoting your products to our fellow Quadriplegic who have the same condition as me
      Thank you!

PFraterdeus reacted to tomatohorse in Bad UX in FX menu / bottom bar. Solutions offered.
Problems: 1) In the course of changing FX parameters, I will tend to touch an empty area on the screen (sometimes by accident, sometimes thinking to de-select the current object and move on to a different task, etc.). It instantly messes up my FX parameters. This is annoying.
    2) de-selecting yourself out of the FX menu, or selecting a different object, is a pain because you have to select the move tool, then click on your new object, then click back on your desired FX. This is too many steps, and requires selecting a tool that you don't actually want to use (ex. move).
    3) when you turn an FX on, the bottom bar does not automatically update to show the FX you just enabled. You have to hit the name of the FX instead. This is unintuitive.

Solutions: 1) if you hit an empty area on the screen, the FX menu does not change parameters.
    2) to edit a different object's FX, simply click that object to have the bottom bar / FX side studio menu change and reflect that object's settings.
    3) if you turn an FX on, change the bottom bar to that FX's setting.

Other thoughts: It other tools and studio interfaces in the program, you can tap an empty spot on the screen to de-select the current object. Or you can tap another object to select that one. Then, the bottom toolbar applies to that newly selected object. FX settings, however, don't work that way. I feel like I constantly have to second-guess what I'm doing when working with FX. "Will this accidentally mess up the parameters I just set? Am I working with the right object? Why don't I see the settings for the FX I just turned on?" etc.
