[Designer 2 for macOS Monterey - 'Add' with text, svg & shape]

Hello,

I am trying to design a split monogram. I am using a svg (the floral portion), a text box, and a shape. When I use the 'add' function the sag floral portion disappears. I have no idea why this is happening! 

I am using this function based off of a tutorial I found on YouTube. If anyone knows of a better way, I would appreciate any help.

[Diecut Sticker Outline on iPad- Affinity Designer]

I am using Affinity Designer on iPad. I am looking to create a diecut sticker with an outline. I’m aware of how to get the first outline, but not an outline of that outline. I am using text. Is this possible to do? 

At first I converted to curves, duplicated the text and set the main text on top. I added the stroke line to the bottom layer and attempted the expand stroke, but nothing happened. 

Any help would be appreciated!
