Good point you made ie the backup app should include all the versions, not just the latest. I will look for one that does that.

With the photos that are linked to the document, they will need to be stored on my hard drive as well. Does the app you use have this option?

Hello.

I'm asking this question because I was using i cloud to back up my documents and photos on the desk top assuming that they were being stored on my computer as well as in the cloud.

Of course I was wrong and I had all sorts of problems with my Publisher document due to the linked photos being elsewhere.

I downloaded all the linked photos and this leads to my first questions:

1) Are these photos no longer stored in the the cloud?

2) If not is there a way that they can be stored in both places?

3) Does it matter if the document itself is stored on the cloud?

What I'd really like to know is what is an easy way to regularly back up and save the afpub document in case the dreaded word "corrupted" rears its ugly head or the hard drive implodes etc.

I opened the document just now and it was all okay until about half way through and then the whole lot

I hadn't noticed that huge image so deleted it (my Affinity Photo has stopped opening so I couldn't modify the picture with it but that is another story).

My Resource Manager just says "Linked". I am connected to iCloud. 

However I have earlier versions of the document which all are okay.

I have been having problems with this file for about a week. Now when I open it everything, text and photos, are blurry and distorted. Sometimes it starts becoming clear but then gets worse again.

The file won't close and I have to force quit.

Any help would be very appreciated.

A question: If I select and copy the text, then paste it onto Word as a docx file, then return it to a brand new Affinity Publisher file and relink all the images; will this get rid of the corruption?

Thanks for those suggestions but whatever I right click on I don't get "Release linked text Frame".

What am I doing wrong?

I have downloaded the PDF manual and find it very good. Clearly written and easy to follow.

What I'm not sure of is what I did to cause the problem in the first place and why there are two separate fixes.

Taking some time I managed to do a fix or fixes of sorts.

With 49, 52 and 67 I dragged the FarmEric master page over the thumbnail and this worked. 

It didn't work with 11, 13 and 35 so I did the Clear Masters thing and this worked. The page numbers disappeared but I can reproduce those.

I really need to understand some of the basic workings of Affinity Publisher.

Now the original problem page, which is not the one above, is now behaving impeccably, without me doing anything.

What this means I don't know.

If I hide the lighter coloured layer, the text on both pages disappear. I assume the text is on this layer.

I can't hide the darker coloured layer underneath it  - nothing happens, the circle on the right stays the same. How do I delete this layer?

The right hand page is a problem, the left is fine.

I can see now that the problem page has in the Layers Panel the Frame Text box coloured whereas the "good" page hasn't.

I've never used layers so don't know how this came about or what it means.

I have found other pages like this.

Hello.

I have Affinity Publisher 2. There is one page with the text frame linked to the previous and following pages. I cannot type on this page because there is no cursor blinking, neither will the Move tool move the text frame. Also various things are greyed out at the top such as Columns, Edit Wrap Outline, Move to Back etc. If I type at the end of the previous text frame, the text appears there but after a certain number of letters, all this new stuff suddenly appears on the dud page along with the cursor and the page is now normal. However if I then go back to the last page and click in there, the dud page then goes back to being unresponsive.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello.I have Affinity Publisher and sometimes the text fades to nothing on part of the page although I'm certain it is still there.

What have I done and how do I fix it.

This is my first post so I hope I have done it right.
