  1. The Replicate function is exactly what’s called Step and Repeat in InDesign and I really wish Serif would build this into Publisher. For anyone doing layout work for cutting and especially die-cutting it’s an absolute necessity to be number accurate
  2. I think I may have posted this or something like it before so forgive me. Why can't a person save their favourite settings overall in the Affinity Suite similar to Adobe? Mainly the units. I work in North America where we still use inches as the main measurement for Graphics. Every time I opener start a new job it opens in Points?? Heck, if it was metric at least I'd be happier. In Adobe you just close the app with your settings and it remembers it always. Surely can't be that hard to do. Still waiting for a true Step and Repeat function as well. I would be able to get our whole Company to switch to Affinity with that capability! Not related to preferences but I've been running into a lot of pdf's that come up with Type 3 missing fonts or some other Alpha numeric name. I have to switch to Illustrator usually to open these files to edit them. All are customer supplied files for business cards, stationery, etc. so they come from anywhere or any app and I have to able to fix them up to print quality. I have the full Adobe suite so I can usually fix tings but I like using the Affinity apps better. Just not having to navigate a million clipping paths like in Illustrator is worth the cost of Affinity. It saves so much time. Now I just need something to tell what those darn fonts are!
  3. I'm having the same problem. InDesign does this easily Layout/pages.... You can move, delete, all kids of stuff. Publisher isn't really up to snuff in the actual pre-press world where we need to do this stuff quickly. Dragging and dropping is not pro-level.
  4. I am frankly disappointed in Publisher. I understand it's new, but not being able to place a pdf, that is, a multi page pdf and be able to choose which pages and bleeds on or not is weird. I use InDesign for this all day long without a problem. I guess because Publisher can edit a pdf is why the font issue comes up. InDesign can't edit a pdf, but you can drop into any frame and manipulate the image to suit anything. Most pre-press people like myself depend on this feature, as well as step and repeat. Hopefully Serif will give us these in the next update?
