  1. Dealing with Slices in AD is a nightmare, I have resorted to using CS6. Snapping does not work for anything but other slices. The Slice selection tool does nothing, the create tool has to be used carefully to select. Some sort of automated process is needed, Slices from Guides is the most obvios I can think of
  2. I have worked out where the rasterising comes from and hopefully you guys can come up with a solution. When an effect is applied to a layer, the entire layer is rasterised instead of just the effects like most other apps. To make it more annoying, effects like inner glow/shadow have no effect unless the layer has a solid fill so you cant just duplicate the layer and apply the effects to the clone with a transparent fill. Worse again, if a blend mode is set on the clone so the original layer is visible along with the effects, the original layer is once again rasterised. Looking forward to the day AD will be my only required vector app but for now I have to pass SVG between 4 of them. Still, beats paying rent to adobe
  3. The attached file exports to PDF fine with 1.3.5 but is completely black in the beta. The offending layer is named. It exports fine when that layer is deleted. I think the jagged edges might have to do with not setting the fill colour to empty/transparent when a layer/shape/node has child objects. Its not happening in the attached. Ill look at it again in the morning to see if that is the cause. I havent been able to work what causes AD to want to rasterise. Sometimes it will, sometimes it doesnt test.afdesign
  4. PDF export has issues. Below is a comparison of the same SVG exported from iDraw and the new beta. The app store version also suffers from jagged/stroked edges but it maintains transparency instead of the solid black background. I tried all formats of PDF and they were all the same. The black background is part of the image when opened with other apps. AD also rasterises where iDraw exports vector. The beta doesnt give the option but the app store version exports nothing if rasterise is disabled.
  5. After a bit more messing around I dont think iDraw supports vector fill very well either cause when creating new patterns they seem to get rasterized and pixelate when scaled. The one attached above was a default pattern, adding new patterns is the problem. So my current arse about workflow is: Design in AD, export as SVG Open and set fill in Inkscape Open and export for use in iDraw Not the best solution but it will have to do for now
  6. The attached file was created with iDraw. It opens in Inkscape and browsers but not in AD. Thanks Untitled.svg
  7. From searching the forum I can see this has been asked a couple times but its not listed in the pinned index or roadmap. So Im just wondering, its this feature coming? When opening SVG files that have pattern fill, the fill renders empty. I have owned AD for nearly a year now and while it is my prefered app to use for vector I find myself turning to iDraw or even Inkscape as AD doesnt support required features. It makes recommending AD to anyone a bit hard when apps that are half the price or free have more capabilties.
  8. Is making the guides manager window display guide positions relative to the anchor point set in document setup on the list of improvements? As it is, no matter what anchor point is set in documents setup the guides are always relative to the top left corner. I realize the anchor is to do with resizing the canvas but if the guides displayed position values relative to the set anchor it would be a god send for game development
  9. I think the price is a bargain but I hear you about Apples currency conversion. Dont feel too bad though, the Australian $ is worth .98CAD but the AppStore US.99 is $1.29 here. Thats pretty much right now given the current exchange rate but its been that way since we were paying the equilevant of US$1.25. They are quick to raise prices on exchange fluctuation but take their time dropping it.
  10. Are there some limitations to exporting for Photoshop? I have exported a pretty simple document from Affinity Designer (3 layers, 2 are raster, 1 is vector with only 3 objects, no fx except stroke) but when opening in Photoshop CS6 is fails with "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered." The file was imported from a PSD but I used AD to modify/add to the shapes as it much easier in AD tahn Photoshop. I'm starting to wonder if the exporter has some issues. I was playing around with SVGKit - https://github.com/SVGKit/SVGKit and SVG files exported from AD didnt work but when the file was opened and saved in iDraw it did work.
  11. I looked through all settings I could find but I couldn't find a way to disable panning when the document is zoomed to fit within the window. In Photoshop, the Magic Mouse will pan the document when zoomed in but if the document is sized to fit in the window, its fixed in the center. With Affinity, panning will still work and the document can be pan out of view. The problem I'm having is positioning objects with the magic mouse as Affinity is far too sensitive Magic Mouse gestures and once a object is placed in the correct position, it gets moved releasing the mouse button. Is there a way to disable panning for zoom levels or even better, reduce sensitivity? I could reduce sensitivity in OS X settings but I will be a pain do every time I need to use Affinity
