  1. Is anyone still having issues with the tables? I am not sure if this is my lack of expertise but I am trying to place text above my table and just can't seem to do it. The table gets highlighted and any text I try to type gets placed inside the table, not above it. In fact, I have two tables in the document but only the second table gets selected.
  2. Thank you @Joachim_L I continue to learn so much from all of you on this forum!
  3. Hello, I am getting this red cast overlaying my image in a Affinity Publisher document. I think it is because I have set a custom size (1008 pt x 612 pt or 14 in x 8.5 in). The red cast appears to disappear when I set the "Custom" paper size in the Print dialog box. My question is-- is there a way to set this size in advance so I don't have to do this manually every time I want to print this document?
  4. @garrettm30Thank you so much for your very thorough, detailed reply! Yes, I absolutely meant tracking. Your advice/guidance has pretty much been spot on. I had never thought of actually copying text from a document that was in PDF format and pasting it into Publisher but that helped a great deal because at least the font looked almost indistinguishable from the font done in the PDF document done with Photoshop. Instead of a series of text boxes, like had been in the PDF document, I discovered that it actually worked better for me to make columns of only two text boxes and enter my customized text, then adjust the tracking, spacing, etc in the Paragraph panel (I don't think I had to do anything in Character). I had so much more patience when I saw that the font looked the way I desired it. I'm learning so much. I may play with the tracking a bit more to make use of the space I have (although part of me says to leave it alone, it looks pretty good). Once again, thank you so much for all your guidance!
  5. Complete noob here (so don't judge me, lol) but I think this issue is my problem. I am basically trying to teach myself how to use this software (honestly, I didn't have much experience in InDesign either). I'm recreating my own version of a document that was originally done in Adobe Photoshop with Affinity Publisher. Everything is fine until I get to the typeset. In the Photoshop document, it looks as if there are two columns of text in phrases that were done with text boxes in Century Gothic font. Each line seems to be aligned center but when I try this in Affinity Publisher, one or two lines of text end up on the next line, which causes an overflow of text. If I play with the leading to get everything on one line, the text looks crowded and altogether unattractive, lol. Is this something that would be fixed with Designer or is it a 'no can do' situation. Am I making any sense at all? Like I said, I am an absolutely beginner with this. Any helpful advice would be gladly accepted.
  6. Just yesterday, I purchased Publisher. The June 20th extension means that I will likely purchase Designer now, especially since I finally received my stimulus check (I live in the U.S.)
  7. Yes, I noticed just a little while ago that the offer has been extended until May 20th! This is so helpful for me. I'm now thinking of purchasing Designer in addition to Publisher. What welcome news!
  8. Thanks for all your replies. Have a good weekend.
  9. Hello, Hope everyone and their loved ones are staying healthy and safe. Some time ago, I came across the Affinity Serif software suite as a result of a project that I was about to embark upon that used INDesign, which is totally out my price range, especially since this was a personal project in my own time but back then Affinity Publisher was still in the Beta stage. I kind of forgot about the entire enterprise but since this lockdown (I'm in the NYC tri-state area) I decided to see if I could test out Affinity Publisher to see whether I might be able to use it instead of INDesign (whose brief trial wouldn't allow me enough time to learn how to use it and employ it in my project). When I checked Affinity Serif Twitter page a few days ago, I was elated to discover that there was a 90 Day trial period and an offer for a 50% discount. I'd prefer to purchase Publisher but I found out about this offer kind of late and the April 20th expiration date seems a bit too soon for my wallet. Not to be that person but I have to ask, is there any way this 50% discount could be extended even a few days?🙏🏾If not , I understand as I now realize that this offer has been out there for about a month and I'm the one who found it late but if there is any way to extend this even a few more days, I'd appreciate this as it would make it possible for me to purchase Publisher. Yes, I'm that poor, lol. Well, if you made it through that lengthy plea, thanks for your consideration. Stay safe everybody.
