  1. That solves the mystery - I'll try updating my graphics drivers and if that doesn't work I'll uninstall/reinstall. Thank you for your help!
  2. Yes I did try what was suggested - I meant to say that the file where I would edit the OpenCL information, PerformancePreferences.xml file does not exist. I was asking if I should create a file called PerformancePreferences.xml. I've run the tool that v_kyr posted, as well as did a windows explorer search for this file on all of my drives - PerformancePreferences.xml doesn't exist on my computer.
  3. Hi GarryP and stokerg - thanks for the help. Affinity Photo version 1.10.1.1142 - I did uninstall and try reinstalling with no success I installed a new SSD and reinstalled windows and all software but Affinity was working fine when I last used it about 2 weeks ago. All graphics drivers are current, I had the AMD software installed to manage that, though I did install this after the last time I used AP, so I killed the program in the task manager with no success. Can't find anything in Windows or AMD settings about hardware acceleration - I've looked all over control panel and the AMD radeon program OS build is 19043.1237 For the openCL... I checked the directory and the file's not there, also did a search of the c:\ drive and can't find it - should I manually create the file? Here's my hardware specs if this helps: Device name DESKTOP-2MMKJVP Processor AMD A10-7700K Radeon R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 3.40 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (30.9 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
  4. 4b541fcf-e510-474e-ab5c-aae17bb3b941.dmp Hello everyone, I'm having a devil of a time getting any Affinity program to load (the file above is from Photo). I've tried rebooting, uninstalling, reinstalling, running as administrator, doing the CTRL-Load program and reset all. I've also read that certain tuning software could cause problems so I made sure to turn that off in task manager. I've attached a .dmp from this evening - any insight to the issue would be most welcome.
  5. I was successfully able to add noise to the actual text color, but I also wish to add it to the outline I put around it. In the image below, you can see the red text has 29% noise in it. On the black outline effect, however, I've put the nose all the way to the right and it still remains a solid color. It also doesn't matter if it's text, shape, or a pixel layer, or if it's a dark or a light color - the outline will not get noise on it.
