  1. You seem to miss the point, as an important tool in illustration (and time saving) Serif should have already inluded it, it's not like people are asking for something impossible and a function people seem to want, "nice to have" as you say even for you.
  2. Autotrace has been a part of Illurator forever and is surely an import part of any vector based app. In Illustrator it can be a bit random but, like others here have said, at least it gives you something within the app to work with and get to know. I'm disappointed that it's not already apart of V1 let alone V2. Having ditched Adobe for Affinity some years ago, for lots of reasons, it's important for usuers/supporter of Affinity to be heared. Do we have to come to Nottingham to bang on some doors?
  3. Thank you Carl123, that is very helpful, I was just about to re-do the work as I've tried several things. I can open it and see that the work I'd done is OK and that the contents pages 4/5 was where the problem started. I was editing a TOC. Thanks again, Martin
  4. Hi, I've been having a problem with AP crashing and now the doc isn't opening and AP crashes again. I can open other files but it means I've lost quite a lot of work. OSX 10.15.7 / MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) /external mac keyboad, wired / Mac monitor (though I have tried it again today with just macbook not conected to anything and it's still the same). AP 1.9.3 I was creating a TOC and editing some of the copy, a simple copy paste cmd+v then it crashed. I re-started AP and opened the auto-saved version when prompted and tried this several times and the same thing happen. I also tried removing the text and placing it into simple text doc and copying it from there, same, cmb+v, it crashed. Then, I couldn't open the AP doc as it crashed again and again. Restarted macbook but this didn't have an affect. I can open other AP docs but not that one. My worry is that if I do lots of work re-doing 4 hours of corrections to a 96 page magazine, then do the TOC again, the whole thing might happen again. Thank you in advance. Martin M80-txt-v 2.afpub
  5. I've been having the same problem today but it start by me trying to cmd+v and it quitting (latest version of AP), it did that several times now I cannot open that file. I have a Friday 30 April deadline and have done a lot of work. best Martin
  6. Hi Walt, Thanks for thr reply. That is very useful information. I must admit that I very new to Publisher and working through things as they come up in real situations to get a grip of the app. while making the transition, I haven't quite got to the assets panel yet but it sounds like that's my next bit of research. Thanks again.
  7. Thanks for this, it is very helpful. I'm new to Publisher after using QXP since 2000. Just wondered though if this is possible over a longer 100 page doc for instance. I'm re-purposing a design into Publisher to use from now on; in QXP I have text boxes on master pages that then can just been edited on the page, moved/re-sized etc., is that not possible in Publisher? Having a basic text frame on master pages (editable) means I don't have to draw one or copy for every page. I understand the need for the integrity of the master in a Publisher page but releasing a master page, per page, for every page, every time there's a change in position or re-size of the text frame seems a little slow going. best Martin
