    Sorry for the late reply. That has helped me. The pen pressure works now.

    Dangerous got a reaction from bures in Auto-trace?
    I have used some auto-trace programs and online tools. At best the results are poor (IMHO).
    Even with very basic line or shape drawings I find that there are 10 or more times the nodes I would create by manually tracing. Usable but messy to edit the resulting curves. I would not expect Serif to add auto-trace as a feature.

    What I would like to see added is the reverse of one feature that is already in AP & AD. We can convert a curve to a selection but how about the ability to convert selection(s) to curve(s). Is this an option? Has it been consider/attempted and written off as a 'no go'?

    Problem with indent is it moves the start of line 1 to the right, I need it to the left as above.

    Yes it was a PDF file I downloaded for the equipment manufactures site long ago, I couldn't use the group text option as there are lots of artistic text that have to be separate despite being close the get grouped in to text frames. No I din not know you could convert to text frames but thought there should be that option (I could not find it despite looking many times, lol).

    Here is a Blue Peter badge for you as well.

    @Callum,
    Red Car.zipThe trick is to have the artboard added via the Context toolbar button. Add it as Document. Close the Embedded window and save the Designer file, double click on the Picture to edit in a new window and you cannot do any editing in that.

    Thanks Old Bruce I was adding the artboard to the original document rather than the placed one. I can replicate this now and will get it logged.

    Dangerous got a reaction from walt.farrell in MSI Download causing an issue on Windows with McAfee TP installed.
    I contacted chat, she said to exclude the file name. I mean I have to download it, exclude it, download it again, run it, ok the report 'McAfee Framework Host must be closed' notice, ok it when it returns a 2nd time and do that for all 3 programs. She rang and said we got disconnected, I said no I ended the chat after that stupid 'fix'. I don't think she was impressed but she did then offer a more acceptable way to deal with it.

    Now just waiting for a reply. lol.

    I'm pretty sure that won't work. Let's see if my steps and video are sufficient, before you muck around with your system

    @Dan C: Today's steps:
    On Win 11, I uninstalled Photo 2, Designer 2, and Publisher 2. From https://affinity.store/update/windows/<appname>/2 I downloaded the 2.0.4 EXE versions of Photo 2, Designer 2, and Publisher 2. I then installed Photo 2 using the EXE, and ran it after install, and got the prompt to Download the newer version. And, this time, it worked and directed me to the download site where I could choose which version I wanted. Repeated step 3 for Designer 2. This time, it also worked, and clicking Download took me to the site to make my choice. Repeated step 3 for Publisher 2. When I clicked on Download during the first run, it directed me to the MSIX download, as you can see in the video I've included below. The other day, at least Photo 2 and Designer 2 both tried to download the MSIX directly, as Publisher 2 did this time. So there is some inconsistency in what's happening.

    Dangerous got a reaction from Pauls in Affinity Designer V2 getting really slow and laggy after some time
    After more testing on new photos I am impressed at the performance. Yes it is what I would call slow but that is not Affinity, it is the slow computer. I was able to work faster than with 2.0 without the not responding issue and even with a 12 image pano (total size of the 12 files 300mb) and creating a 650 .afphoto file it was quicker than I expected.

    Even a 21photo (total 800mb) pano worked as expected. Bearing in mine a single photo was crashing 2.0 last week after the Windows update this is a fantastic result.

    So from me it is a WELL DONE SERIF.

    As an experiment, I uninstalled the MSIX version of Photo 2, downloaded the EXE/MSI version of 2.0.4, and installed it. And found the following:
    When the application started, and said there was an update available, I clicked Download. This opened an empty Firefox browser tab and automatically tried to download the MSIX version. At that point, I canceled the download. I then clicked Help > Check for Updates, which said there was a download available. I clicked Download, and a Firefox tab for https://store.serif.com/en-us/update/windows/photo/2/ was opened, allowing me to download the one I wanted. Conclusion: There is an error when the application detects the new update during startup, which causes it to download the wrong version rather than directing you to the proper download page. That error does not exist when the check is performed manually using the Help menu.

    In the Update dialog? Or in the Store pages?
    From the Update dialog in the retail version, Download does a direct download with no choice of what to download.

    Interesting. That does seem to be broken, from a usability perspective.
    I just uninstalled the MSIX version, and installed the EXE version of 2.0.4 (downlevel, so it would try to update). I got the prompt to Download, and it wants to download the MSIX version rather than either
    Automatically downloading the MSI version; or Allowing me to choose. I agree that automatically downloading the matching (EXE) version would be better.
    Edit: My earlier posts were based mainly on experience with the beta, which is handled like my option 2 indicates.

    Neat trick, I often want Artistic Text that has been converted to curves to appear in the layers panel in 'word' order.

    Thanks.
    First, no, you can't control where they end up in the Layer stack. They will end up above the currently selected layer, or at the top of the stack if nothing is selected.
    I'm not sure if your problem is that you need them at the bottom, or if it's that you need them in the inverse order in the stack (that is, rather than (from the top) you're getting file3, file2, then file1 but you need file1, file2, file3).
    If you just need them at the bottom, it should be simple enough to select them all after you add them, then drag them down the the stack in the Layers panel.
    If you need them in the inverse order, you can Group them. Then select them all in the Layers panel and use Arrange > Move Outside from the menu. Then delete the empty group that's left.

    Hi @thomaso,
    This is a bug that was never fixed and has being suggested as a work around for when users want to invert the order of layers (for which we do not have a specific command). It's been around for quite some time. I will check if this is logged/what state is in.

    I downloaded & installed the MSI versions as soon as I was aware they had been released (within 3 days) and have had few if any issues which I can not say was the case with the MSIX install. I would say that everyone should give the MSI version a try.

    On this Windows 10 system, Shift+Enter inserts a line break as expected. Ctrl+Enter (the Windows equivalent of Cmd+Return on a Mac) converts any selected object(s) to curves.

    Not baseline grid but I do have an image on the page with the the JUMP wrapping option set. It seems that the numbers go wrong when the image is bottom of the page with no text below it on that page. Looks like you have sorted it for me, thanks.
