Go to a shop where there is a 3 for £3, normally £1.30 and see if they sell you 1 for £1, not many (if any) will. Again go to a shop and buy something for £1.30. Next day it is on sale for £1. Try getting 30p back. They have a 3 program on 3 platform bundle at a price which is a lot less than many single programs on single platforms cost. Even at full price it is still a lot cheaper than many are. Some 'ADD ONS' cost about the same as the Affinity full price. You don't want or need Publisher then don't buy it, no one is forcing you to take the offer. I'm skint, I borrowed some money to get the 3 programs, I don't need AD or AP but want them to 'play' with. I'm not waiting for them to return on my investment which is just as well as they never will, unless I class the enjoyment I get using them as payback enough (which I do). How much do you spend on drink, fags, watching sport etc. the you don't get payback on? Make a decision and move on.

I purchased A-Photo 18 months ago after 4 year of paying subs to Adobe and getting nothing in return, A-Designer & A-Publisher about 5-6 months ago. Personally I have been treated more than fair by Serif and anticipated the Ver 2 release (the signs were there) weeks before. I purchased Ver 2 (full set) within minutes of the site going live again on the 9th, hours before I saw what was new in it. I don't like the app version so waiting for the msi install version but for me it was well worth the money. I have no doubt that future updates will add more features and improvements and I look forward to them. As for whether I should have had additional upgrade discount, My opinion is no, I got too good a deal with the 3 Ver 1 programs and an even bigger deal (3 programs on 2 platforms, I don't have a mac) for £90. I have no reason to complain. Well done Serif.

Affinity programs work the same whichever install method is used but they chose to use the app install method. This stops 3rd party software calling it in the norman way. Serif have listened to complaints and responded by saying they will release a msi install (same install as Ver 1 and most programs) ASAP. To set up a bat file it is a simple Notepad document containing these 2 lines start /b affinityphoto2.exe %1 exit and saved with the name Afphoto2.bat and using that instead of Afphoto.exe. The bat file is a workaround till the msi version is released.

Not a bug but something that some people find confusing . Ver 1 & Ver 2 can coexist on the computer. Some people like me have just moved to Ver 2, some are keeping Ver 1 and using both to meet clients needs and other have both, using Ver 1 while testing/learning Ver 2. There is confusion over which shortcut refers to which version. I have always used a round icon for Ver 1 so the square icon (I currently can't change) of Ver 2 means for me I can't get mixed up. Would it have been better for Serif to have altered slightly the ver 2 icon? The other thing, ver 2 will overwrite a ver 1 file without warning thereby loosing the ability to open it again in Ver 1 program. Could there have been an option (that could be turned off if required) where by default if ver 2 was going to overwrite a ver 1 file it triggered a warning giving the user the option to rename or overwrite? Maybe @Patrick Connoror another admin could add their thoughts.

If you warp text in Ver 2 and then try to print the text prints out without the warp effect. It is the same with shapes & curves. The Warp Group has to be converted to curves in order to print warped. Exporting it works ok.

No presets larger than A3?
Dangerous replied to DJF's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
On the Windows version you can drag a category up or down the list, make a new one and put it on the top of the list or drag a preset up higher in the list ie A4 above A3 etc. A lot of customisation available. -
I do not have formal IT training, I am self-taught, built my computer and had no issues installing affinity. I had no end of issues with adobe installations & updates but got them sorted. At one point even adobe support was close to giving up. As for it doesn't install. A few have issues compared to the many that don't.

I have several drives (6 plus 2 external) with different folders in a manner to suit me. The thread is people not happy that it is an app but the app works the same as it would a standard program. People want the icons on the desktop, that takes seconds to do. I have integrated it with Faststone & Photo Supreme. It also works with Blender and probably many other till Serif get a better fix. It can be moved to a different drive if space is limited.

I went to the start menu list, pinned the 3 programs to the start menu, pinned them to the taskbar then I dragged them off the start menu to the desktop and all 3 had icons as they should. That was a day after an easy install. Getting them on the start menu, taskbar and desktop took under 1 minute, probably 30 seconds max. Old windows pc. I do not clutter my desktop with icons, I keep them on the taskbar (11 but room for 32 or more or start menu (82 with room for another 50 or so) where they belong (in my opinion) only need recycle bin on desktop.. I can't understand why people are so against it as an app. I don't like windows apps but not because they are apps, just because they are crap. Affinity is no different as an app to what it is as a standard install other than integrating it in to external programs but I have sussed that so both faststone (image viewer) and photo supreme ( dam ) can call APHOTO and open it with the selected image opened. Serif are working on a better method than a batch file. My desktop
