  1. Thanks Dan - so for anyone looking at this, to transfer your export presets (assuming you haven't uninstalled v1):

    Affinity Store Version:

    Copy: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher/user/file_export_options.dat

    Paste into: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2/user/

I only had pdf presets and this has copied them over fine. (refer to Dan's link above for different location of Mac App Store files)

  2. Yes I'm seeing this too - in the artboard drop-down 'Document' seems to always show the first artboard, then all the artboard names get shunted by one, so for me 'artboard 1' shows 'artboard 2' (because 'artboard 1' got labelled 'Document') and so on.

I also see your Page Box issues, and as noted elsewhere, if you choose BleedBox, the bleed is only visible bottom and right of the artboard (space is allowed for it top and left, but its white, not showing what's in the bleed).

  3. I'm talking about object styles here. What did they do to upset you Affinity? If Studio panels were children, social services would have been called long ago.

Just look at Text Styles - When you create one, a whole big dialog opens where you can name your newborn style, tweak its setting, choose who its parent is. Create one from scratch, or based on your selection.

Object styles? Create from selection, and.... nothing happens. Try again... nothing happens. But wait - there it is at the bottom of the styles panel, automatically named with a number. If I right-click I get to name it myself... or delete it. And that's it. No editing, no creating from scratch or nesting.

Come on guys, show it some love!

  4. When you set your own keyboard shortcuts in preferences, you can then Save them and Load them into the new version. It would be great if that was also possible for Studio presets and pdf export presets, or anything else that has saved presets(?).

Too late for version 1 though, so does anyone know a hacky way of finding the right file in the system to copy over?

  5. Don't know if this is a regression, but when I create a new document with Prefer Linked, then place an image, it comes in embedded according to Resource manager. Document setup confirms Prefer Linked was selected correctly.

Replace image from context bar, and clicking the new Options, then prefer linked DOES work correctly.

I've also tried starting as embedded and switching to linked in Document setup - same result. I've restarted AD from first launch just in case, no change.

  6. On MacOS with any app of the suite in fullscreen, if you do File > New document, the templates dialogue spits you out of fullscreen to make your choice. When you make a selection, the dialogue closes leaving you completely out of the affinity app you were in, you then have to remember to swipe back to the fullscreen app where your new document is waiting for you, wondering where you were!

Just feels a bit clunky, all other dialogues leave in the fullscreen app.

  7. Just testing placing large (not huge) pdfs, around 110mb, takes around 50 seconds with spinning beachball and cpu wizzing up over 100%, same pdf in APub 1.8.6 takes 5 secs. Similar slow results in Designer beta.

Tested other similar size pdfs, same result. All tests done with a new blank A4 document, prefer linked or embedded makes no difference.

I know it's an ageing Mac (see signature), just flagging it up due to the difference between 1.8 and this.
