The specific words you use may help me guide myself better. Thanks.

    Ted, I appreciate your advice....

    Generally speaking...
Who's great idea was it to remove the V1 videos?

Seriously, I did not realize a company could suck so much.
I am not positively motivated to upgrade with that kind of customer support impairment.

    Appreciate that.
Enjoy any humor absent knowledge of a person's full life circumstances and/or hardship.
I returned today to say I found v1 in a playlist on the channel.

I genuinely appreciate everyone's help as I try to learn the material.

    No one's. Unless you did?
Sometimes you may just need to scroll a few centimeters lower to see what you're looking for:

I’m not entirely sure what you are asking about but you can:
select specific pixels with one or more of the selection tools; then copy those pixels from one document to another via the Copy/Paste functionality; and then you can move the pasted pixels with the Move Tool. There is no way that I know of to paste the selected pixels directly into a specific position in the target document.

    Hi duderonomy,
Additional to the above, once you've made your selection, ctrl J will make a duplicate of your selection onto a new layer. There is no way to do this within the same layer. though.
If you are not able to do this, make sure the layer is a pixel layer and not an image layer (you can right click a layer to rasterise it into a pixel layer).
It may be worth a post in our Feedback section of the forum.

That is not 'large text'. That is ZOOMED.  That makes it past the point of functionality in all my other apps.

I cannot do that. That drastically reduces my iPad screen usability size. So I then cannot use Shapr3D, procreate or ANY of my other apps because it makes my 12.9 ipad a 9" one.
All other iPad Apps have properly sized Icons. Also that won't help my Laptop where the icons are too tiny on it too.

Affinity needs to update their code to use LoadImage and not LoadIcon  Eg. HICON hIcon = (HICON)LoadImage(AfxGetInstanceHandle()

LoadIcon has been superseded in all versions of C including C+ because it is limited in size.

I BEG Affinity to fix the "tiny tools" problem. It does no good to continue to say "Sorry, it can't be done," to every question. You are developers, are you not? You need to be cognizant of UI and the effect on your clients. IF you have backed yourselves into a corner by using a design code that makes this issue less compatible with your clients needs then you have chopped off a large section of users who want to use your product, but become frustrated by an inability to respond to them. Please reexamine this issue.

You can ALT click on the mask icon to solo it.
You then see the mask in solo mode = only the mask but not the other layers' content.
By clicking on another layer you leave the solo mode.
This ALT click works not only for masks but other layers as well.
The issue with Affinity is, that there is no feature to show the mask and the content at the same time. This is only possible in mask refine mode but in that one you can't paint the mask.
As far as I know this is one of the most requested features in the forum since the beginning of Affinity but unfortunately it did not make it into V2.

You could change the layer blend mode of the PDF to something like Lighten and on the master page have a white rectangle that can be positioned over the name and address. The Lighten blend mode will allow the white rectangle to mask the name and address.
Have a play around with this to see what works.

In Publisher select the Fill Tool and change the 2nd dropdown box in the Context Toolbar from Text to Frame, then change the colour.
In Designer you can try a recolour adjustment if your text is pure white, (black and other colours can be problematic)

I played with an updated color palette a while back as well. This was my contribution... just combine the wheel, the sliders and the swatches into one palette.

duderonomy reacted to John Rostron in Canvas rotation
Can I reiterate the two techniques I mentioned in the thread mentioned above.
Use the crop tool. First resize the Canvas (Document > Resize Canvas) to give you some clearance. Then click on the Crop Tool. Hover the cursor just outside the corner of the crop frame and, eventually, a rotate cursor should appear. Drag this clockwise or anticlockwise as you wish. Then close the Crop Tool. Finally trim the image using Document > Clip Canvas.
Use Equations. Resize the Canvas as before.. Go to Filters > Distort > Equations. Select the Polar Co-ordinates. Then in the equation for t (theta) enter:
    t+pi*(a-1)
As you drag the slider for the a parameter, the image will rotate  clockwise. Then click on Apply. You can then trim the image as before.
Each of these methods can rotate by arbitrary amounts. If you wish to rotate by a specific number of degrees, then use method two and, in the Polar dialogue, select Degrees (rather than the default radians) and in the Theta box enter:
    t-Degrees
Where Degrees is you required rotation angle in degrees. Note that the minus sign here ensures a clockwise rotation. For counter-clockwise, use a plus sign.
You could make this as a macro.

    Good question, @Derry.
First, in my experience Publisher will automatically remember the last settings you used for creating new documents. So if it's not doing that for you, I'm surprised. What OS are you running?
However, you can also create document presets.
When the new document dialog is active, make the settings you want. Then click the hamburger icon and choose Create Preset:

    Welcome to the forums.
I think you might be better-off using shapes to Clip the layers rather than using Cropping in this case, see attached video.
P.S. You don’t need to place images in layers, images are layers themselves.
